The smarter option would be to do exactly what Chris and his buddies did about 15 years ago. Start your own game from scratch.
It would be cheaper in the long run (not that Tencent is selling anyway) plus you can avoid some of the critical issues in the PoE code. It's as simple, and as enormously complex, as that. |

I don't even. (And yes, everything I've posted here, has been suggested by "players", who apparently wants to buy - and control - GGG) Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you. If somebody is interested by making a shared democracy site with stawpolls and stuffs why not. I'm able and up for the task and there are dozens of competent devs playing this game.
Then we make a kickstarter stuff that split shares and negociate with tencent. It's worth a shot, it could work and it would be big advertising for the game ^^' |

I'm pretty sure everything GGG has been doing is not due to Tencent but DESPITE it. If you honestly think that Tencent has anything to do with how the game has progressed you clearly have no idea how they operate.
