Needless to say, I am a bit disappointed on this so-called logbook buff. Who knows maybe that will change with running higher map tiers and quantity.
You need to do Rarity/Quantity > Logbook > Monster pack size in that order. I have no issues and my Expedition stash has been half full all the time with them with me running a few a day.
If you dont have monster pack size then you 100% need to put quantity/rarity ahead of it. Its drop rate is essentially very similar to forcing drops like you would with magic finding by running rarity/quantity.
Generally the idea is you hit a rarity/quant or packsize with 1 charge, then hit Logbooks with another, then you hit any packsize+runic monsters on the way.

I got a headhunter from gambling yesterday. I was tempted to sell it right off, but after playing with this REDICULOUS thing all day, I'm NEVER TAKING IT OFF

Damn this is the sorta thing that makes no sense to me, RNG RNG RNG everything locked behind RNG. Shouldn't the "best" item in the game be obtained from doing something challenging? Don't really get why RNG is involved with an item that is obviously gonna make any character no matter the build strong.
