What is PoE to you?

PoE to me is a dead game.

They don't understand how to make a game a challenge and choose to do nerfs rather then an overhaul.

For one nobody wants the acts to be made harder, nobody spends much time playing the acts so to me that part is absolutely pointless and their attention is being spent in the wrong place. They should be focusing on end-game, maps, bosses and the like.

Not to be disrespectful to GGG but I don't really care about the games story, I spend less then a day getting through Act 1-10 then am in the end-game. I'd like the "end-game" being made harder and nerfing gems and ascendencies to accomplish that is a step in the wrong direction as it's LITERALLY a never ending story, more gems & items get released every league so it just continues on and on.

If they just overhauled their map tiers and increased the difficulty per tier then it would accomplish what they wanted. The map Tiers don't increase enough in difficulty so everyone eventually overcomes it and it becomes easy, if the power creep is to high then scale the mobs and bosses accordingly to make it a challenge, maybe add a few more tiers which it's been years now and it's the same shit.

Well, honestly, what more could one ask for? I play a video game and have fun.

You have to remember that you're talking to people whose identity and self-worth are centered around playing video games. That sentence can't even go in their heads.

Only a game? Fun?

Error...error...check information...check information...

Ah of course games are only fun or not, for everyone. No complexity, just yes or no. Again, very insightful.

Maybe just don't comment if adding nothing but pointless statements, or is it just too important that people see how cleverly snarky you are?

better to not pay attention, that person was pointing to people all the time on the forum and insulting but without real arguments, he just attack others to bait.

Is obvious games are to have fun and that is why most of people on that post dont say the obvious and say something else more elaborated.

Nothing can scratch from where there is nothing.
Full Harvest is besto waifu, give me 3.11 and/or 3.13 and take my money.
To me PoE is a videogame that I play to have fun.

It is fast-paced farming and grinding for exp/gear and upgrades to be ever more efficient.

Leagues are nice new content and keep an already existing game fresh.

I actually like the graphics and fancy explosions of mobs and that feeling of KaPOW that you get when skills pop and your enemies stop existing.

I also like that requires you to think outside the box and pay attention to what you do especially during bossfights (unless ofc you are one of the few who kill bosses every league within 2 seconds). Pretty much what it was prior to 3.15 and well after it's early days.

I played the early days and found it boring.

For me POE died when Chris sold his "vision" to Tencent. It is nothing more than a cash grab for MTX and mystery boxes. Sad but true! I am still trying the leagues but stream priorities, constant lags/disconnects, uninteresting league mechanics and no QOL features made this game a bad experience for me.

Can cosmetics ever be considered a cash grab?

I'd say if anything the increasing need for stash tabs is the cash grab, and that's subjective.

Not everyone is here to be objective or fair.
When I started, it was to help friends explore the game because we'd tried a bunch of other arpg's and they just didn't cut it. Also, it's free lol

I still make this the primary motivator for any game I play. How can I fit into a community and make it a cool experience for us all?

That said I challenge myself to try something different every league. I'll often roll up 2-3 dorks based on what's new, what my wrists and shoulders will allow me to do, and how well it meshes with what my mates are doing.

Lately they've fallen away from the game because of the performance issues. We're older, have families and jobs, expenses and responsibilities. Hardware that used to run the game spectacularly when we started, no longer lets us do the same content we loved.

The nerfs don't scare us, but the shift of more and more clicky burdens onto the customer is destroying the nerves in my hands. The amount of garbage on the screen, the brutal and stubborn hostility the company has towards any measure to limit the screen clutter and improve visibility, and the emphasis on RNG to vastly extend the duration of the clicking and squinting RSI fest just to see gated content has pretty much closed the book on the game for me and many others.

Even after they stopped playing, I kept going, identifying key challenges that arbitrarily gate content at inappropriate places, and specializing in builds to help clear it. HOGM? I will do your HOGM for free. Silly harvest bosses with entangling vines? Unstoppable juggalo here to help. Lab sucky? Elastigirl will take your hat in for free.

I was never the fastest, but I strove for reliability and had enough currency to refund you if I blew your instance.

Most of those things have had all the value bled out of them. Can't share beasts unless they were there for each one in person. HOGM not even required anymore, not that it should have been in the first place, but it was a neat exercise in problem solving for any build. You can buy packed temples-in-a-box in trade. Crafting encounters are hardly worth the time anymore outside of SSF. The only reason anyone wants to group with anyone else anymore is to fill a slate of leechers to max quant something. Can't even fossil taxi anymore because welp nothing down there is worth risking 10% to go fetch for someone else.

Of course, your comments should be posted and allowed because what you are saying is so much more elaborate and insightful. sheesh.

Sometimes, you have to read beyond one statement and take the entire conversation into consideration.

Also, this is a forum, a place to post opinions.

Here is something for you my friends:
"The truth of the matter is this: no god is a philosopher or seeker after wisdom, for he is wise already; nor does any man who is wise seek after wisdom. Neither do the ignorant seek after wisdom. For herein is the evil of ignorance, that he who is neither good nor wise is nevertheless satisfied with himself: he has no desire for that of which he feels no want." -Diotima of Mantineia
