Lots of hypocrisy and sneaky nerfs in the 3.15, it's not just 20-40% damage from supports

Sooo, I was really looking forward to the 3.15 and "big balance changes" but after watching the announcement for like 3x by now, I don't hold my hopes up.

Just to point few things that Chris mentioned in the announcement that really made me cringe.

"New Skills and Support gems"
Meta shakeup is done by spamming new gems into the game.
Crap skills will remain crap...

"Game Balance changes"
-i'm paraphrasing "usually developers just turn knob on numbers up and down and it's cheap approach, it keeps players on a TREADMILL...."
Really? GGG talking about other devs keep players on a treadmill. Really cringe stuff.

-He also mentioned something skill balance wise that bad skills aren't necessarily bad it's you just have to find good combo of things blabla....

Really? Hard to believe Chris with all PoBs and masterminds out there. If you polish a turd, it's still going to be a turd man.

-making a "challenging game" by actually making it super tedious?
Chris "Trying to kill a Goatman Shaman while he had Molten Shell up was a pretty terrible idea."

Lighty "it wasn't fun then, it won't be fun now..."

Chris "we've added lvl 2 support gems without making game harder at all"
What?????

-flask changes, so press F for the flasks now. Rework is total garbage and oneshot fiesta from before is going to be on steroids now.
But he said "flask piano is bad for the wrists"!
B A D, ON THE WRISTS, he said.
But thousands of single drops aren't? Stacked drops that people are begging every league?
-Shhhh! Flask piano bad.
You die now every map ;)

Let's get back to "keeping players on the treadmill" and it's a cheap approach to just tune numbers up and down, we do it more complex blablabla....

Yeaaah it's so that much complex that you strait forward raised boss life 4x with damage reduction phases and at that point you've cut players damage exactly 4x and brought us 2 years back.
Now they are pushing us even further back from 2018. when i've started, by nerfing support gems.

But here's the ninja nerfs folks. You're curse immunity flask is worth rats ass now so prepare extra suffixes for resistances, because keeping res at 75%=you die. LESS DAMAGE

It will take longer to kill enemies so you will have to build more defenses, LESS DAMAGE.

Your Basalt flask is gone, invest into phys mitigation, LESS DAMAGE.

Got Temporal Chains, reroll.

Movement is nerfed, need to invest more. LESS DAMAGE OR GET REKT

Being stationary will get new meaning of BAD now.

You thought the game is grindy? You are going to grind it now twice as much as before or you'll die twice as much.

Keeping players on the treadmill...

Sorry for the rant folks. I'm disappointed. This wasn't PoE i've jumped into.
I'll give 3.15 a chance but i don't hold my hopes up.

Oh so awakened gems are now mandatory not optional and you need them to clear acts
Need more brains, exile?

I mean realistically yes. If you had the option why would you choose the weaker version? I realize you're trying to come off as cleverly snarky; but its still not a good rebuttal.

He was talking about story part of the game. Like they've introduced supports you can use early on but that they didn't make the game harder, which is totally untrue since they buffed damage and monster life.

You're disappointing yourself by jumping the gun. How about waiting for the actual patch notes or better yet, the actual patch itself and trying out the game in its new state and then judging it, so you can base your opinion on more than just one person sharing the tip of the iceberg in a stream?

This isn't helping anyone. You cannot provide feedback on something you haven't even tried yet, that's not how it works. Chris even said this himself in the stream, that he would like people to try it out and give constructive feedback, so they can see how to move forward with this. This isn't the way.
Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more.

'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league.
Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave.

On the one hand this is a somewhat fair criticism. On the other hand, I think it is fair for people to give their impressions on what has been revealed at this point. I mean the impressions expressed in the opening post are not unique by any means.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

That's not really correct. GGG/Chris provided quite a bit of information on changes, which can be considered and ingested and responded to.

Unfortunately, as almost always seems to be the case, they didn't provide, and *won't* provide enough information. For example, what is the average DPS of builds in the top say 5,000 players in Ultimatum? 10k? 50k?

What is a desirable average? Or put in other terms, how quickly on average are builds killing bosses, and how quickly should they be?

Most of all I think people dislike, rightly, having their pay cut because 'there are rich people out there'. Particularly when it turns out GGG are posting bullshit charts about player power which have no actual numerical/factual basis (and which, by the way, only show power going up, ignoring things like Harvest being buttfucked and crit multi on the tree being smacked).

Many people already have an opinion, whether fair or not, and they're entitled to share.

It's feedback on the announcement. I know the game well enough the see where this is going.
Damage wise effectively, if monster life remains the same they will push us back past Incursion league.
Content wise game is so much larger than in 2018. Atlas requires much more time to complete, now even more.

It's not all bad but i doubt i'll be able to enjoy the game as before. I don't have the time for the amount of grind that will give me reasonable sense of progression.

I hope i'm dead wrong about this. I love the game. We'll see.

Hm, throwing a look at your supporter packs xavathos, i know whats going on with you.
Guess you will have much to do these days as the rant police bud

Anyways, Torstein im with you, youre totally right and have the right to share your opinion based on information till now.

I wait for Patchnotes and then the hammer will fall, most likely for leaving POE for ever for good in my case. If someone wants to play a dark souls like game in top down view, feel free to enjoy new direction.... chris, whats wrong with you man?

You´re out of the loop for roughly 3 leagues now, you said that yourself. Very bold statement.

Can just wholeheartly agree to this. To be fair, I am a bit on the fence about the flask changes especially, but throwing a tantrum right now is not the way to go. Patch nodes, test, build a solid opinion.

And in general a slowing down of the game and making it more challenging is definately needed, powercreep got out of hand. I only play since Delirium and my char-power grew exponentially with harvest alone.
