Hey there,

The first time you start the game after an engine patch like this, the client has to delete the old Shader Cache files(some of them).
This can take awhile, roughly around a couple minutes up to ten.

If it doesn't load after say 10 minutes, delete your shader cache manually and it should load fine.

Sorry for the trouble.

sounds good, DOES NOT work. i deleted everything POE related and reinstalled even, no chance to get to the login screen..... AGAIN by the way... the patch before this recent one was fine.
I had this issue - after wiping and reinstalling everything still the same.
Then I went into the config file
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile
and set the renderer to Vulkan, which has never worked for me, but I figured it was worth a shot.
Turns out it was, as it now works. I tried setting it back to DX11 and the problem returned. Back to Vulkan, at least I can play for now while they figure out the DX issue.

[Edit]
I should add that this is obviously a workaround, not a solution. The problem appears to be related to DX11. Switching to Vulkan, IF vulkan normally works on your machine, avoids whatever is going on with DX11. Note the IF.

Vulkan never worked before on my machine. I have an integrated intel graphics chip laptop. I tried updating drivers to the latest intel drivers and Vulkan didn't work. The last change I made was to update the to the latest drivers for my LAPTOP - that is, the Lenovo graphics drivers, not the intel drivers from intel - and the version was actually later than anything I could find on the intel site. It still didn't work.
Then the patch came along and DX tanked, but now Vulkan is working. Go figure.
Lenovo Intel (UHD 620) 27.20.100.9664
Vulkan 1.2.177

I replaced the line so it read as follows:

renderer_type=Vulkan

But this did NOT work for me. It only changed what happened when I launched the game.

With my renderer set to DirectX11, I would see the initial animation of the zooming in on the internals with all of the gears, and then it would switch to that screen with the continual animation of the two gears in the middle of the screen.

With the renderer set to Vulkan, when I try to launch the game, I only get a black screen, the cursor would change to the PoE cursor, and after about three seconds, the entire thing would end and send me back to my Windows desktop, with no error message.
I tried reinstalling windows on another drive real quick and install only POE. no chance, all drivers are up to date and everything is error free everywhere. i have a standard intel system with a RTX GPU. I DO NOT have integrated graphics on my CPU.

keep in mind that the issue started after the small patch today, before it was fine. please start thinking that there is nothing that the user can fix when the developer-team screwed up "again" (maybe the 5th time with this kind of issue). we know this and it got fixed every time by a patch and NEVER EVER did we fixed it by deleting some files or something similar.
ty.
again stuck in the grinding gears. Please help!
By far, this loading error topic has most view in the whole league and GGG still hasn't fixed it yet.
Mesmo problema , impossivel logar.
Anyone elses graph saying their VRAM is "N/A" ? Asked global, seems its pretty common that peoples VRAM isnt showing up on the graph nor showing usage because of it.
Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

look, this is a new feature -> GGG has no quality control -> we are the beta testers -> the issue is not on your end -> the feature will be developed further and will work for you eventually some time in the future

i assume you know how it works here. don't expect a fully working product like this. never was and never will be it seems.

Thanks, worked for me. Switching back to DX11 in game brings the turning gears back.
