My steam got hijacked Locked out the hacker lol

I'm now at the point where I found help from steam.

it had all the looks of basically get put aside by a guy who was on his last minutes wanted to get home quick cos after then nobody responded anymore in any of the subjects.

To be honest, it's apparent that it goes way over the head of the support staff on here, Just straight up explain to me why you cant retrieve payments I made on a steam platform on your website that's all.

But then the hole technicality of how things work en bla en rules en agreements
meanwhile your left dicking around and your 600 euro account is hold hostage by the same company your bought it from. So I'm hesitant to spent money now.

Honestly answering 1 hour of questions , And you get something like that whats your bank number or w/e, Then you wait 25 minutes o are you using steam version? Well then Fuckkkk youuu

All im saying is that im getting fucked over for your guys need of exposure and profit from steam.

There is one thing you have not considered tho.

You did not get owned by a hacker, but by a logger malware, and only places you can get one of those are malicious websites.

Now considering that ToS clearly states that they essentially reserve the right to outright nuke anyone's account without explanation if they see fit, considering that you have traveled places to a point where some phishing website has installed a keylogger on your PC, a user like you is basically a risk, because for all they know you could have gotten your account snatched by browsing an rmt site.

Also you did not buy the account...at least i really hope you did not, would explain quite a lot tho lol.

You got to start reading what you agree to when you register an account, both steam and GGG, every company that is serious about it self will always include multiple points regarding account theft and how far they are obligated to follow through with affected account.
More so, you also agreed to same type of end user rule set when you created your steam account as well, and who knows as to what agreement steam and GGG has between them selves, that no user is privy to.

Idk I'm not asking about support regarding keeping my stuff secure.

pretty weird they were after my path of exile right away but GGG knows what that is all about and so do some players not gonna talk about that here tho.

in a sense, I feel GGG should feel responsible says something about how my account is getting targeted for just POE.

read carefully! If your account got hacked on steam, And the person changes the password.

You cant log in anymore, But you can log in to path of exile even if the two are linked.

If you would then unlink your account to kick the hacker and try to salvage the situation. and an example: let the admins know so they can ban the guy that was trading my account.

What happens here is where it all goes wrong.

The admin temporarily turns off your account. while your on it

They then tell you to contact support get some questions

there's some payment confirmation etc.

It's straight-up impossible for them to retrieve info from your steam after you unlinked which you did to try to save your last stuff.


So to wrap all of this up.

What why i kept all my steam purchase email ....

They can NOT verify your steam purchase if you unlinked,That number in your email means nothing to them. You could use that to retrieve your steam account tho. See its typical for companys to have areas where you can get stuck in the system. Would of been cool if they said Hey ya your right we are gonna check into that.

Have you seen anything like that?

Seems there is no incentive for them to help out in these situation,

I got steam account back btw still this all remains a valid concern.

I would say Steam has 2 factor and at your risk that disable it. Hacking POE with email address that dont have 2 factor is way more easier than hacking Steam that have 2 factor


GGG staff would have a genuine concern that you are the owner of the account or not, or like my ex-guildmate, sold their account

Not sure how you could tell a not confirmed owner that this is the issue without making it a security risk on its own, gonne reflect on that

Or should all players that lose their account in this way accept it and move on?

noone wold try to unlink Steam first......GGG can lock account and resolve this kind of hack anyway if you sent the email from POE login email



Most rmter that selling their account, however forget to do this step before selling the account or leave this as backdoor so it seems stupid to not ask GGG for step first before "self-fix"
