2h melee weapon balance is crap

I think Flesheripper, Vaal Axe, Exquisite Blade and Judgement Staff/Eventuality Rod are the best 2H melee weapons in the game.

The rest that comes after those are subpar or niche at best.

I'd like if they added some more support for converting your attack speed into damage tbh which would help some of the bases.

I think ZiggyD mentioned this on a baeclast recently but if you play slams eventually your attack speed which you tend to pick up naturally makes them feel bad because you attack too fast for the playstyle.

The only thing we have that slows it down in return for more damage is pulverize, and alternate quality pulverize it'd be nice if some passives were available to go slower if desired.

That would enable some of the faster weapon types, like my Harvest stun dudes mace was this



Reasonable pdps, except its pretty fast for a mace which is wasted for warcrys - i'd actually do substantially more damage with a slightly lower pdps weapon that was much slower.

They need to figure out the identity they want for the weapon types and enable how they play with smarter passives/implicits rather than just having 2 good bases and 9 unused ones even for the more desirable Axe/sword/staff etc.
Maces have access to Overlord. Probably one of the best cluster jewel notables, freeing up an entire support gem.

Problem being staves have access to overlord too, and are probably just plain superior anyway. Lots of extra sweet block and easily accessible and good passive tree nodes.
