Don't wait till PoE2 to get rid of socket rng

I know that PoE2 is getting rid of jewellers and fuses for good, but I think this should be implemented before that. Its just horrible that you can find an item you really want to use but you can't because its not linked.

Even with perfect fossils and quality crafts, sometimes the rng is too extreme and it doesn't link in 5k fusings despite having 48 quality. Not to mention that these thousands of clicks are detrimental to joint health.

I think its high time that this horrible mechanic is removed from the game.

I was thinking on this just last night.

I was again thinking on why GGG nerfed so many systems. Trying to come to some sense on the matter, and this was what came to mind....

....They are preparing the core game for possible change over to the new socket system. IIRC, Chris said that they will start converting aspects of the core game to the new PoE 2 systems as they get completed.... So, just maybe we are in for a pleasant surprise end of July with the new league....

/wakes up drooling with cold coffee.

It looked like they were already doing this in ritual with the abundance of 6 links. But again this league we have had a major regression where ultimatums just give out 5 links all the time.

I don't even mind spending the fusings since they're pretty easy to get, but just clicking thousands of times is a pain. Wish they'd just make the 6L recipe easy to access (i'm at depth 200+ still haven't found it) and reduce it to a more reasonable number like 1k fuses.
IIRC they wont get rid of jewelers but only fusings.

You still have to have the sockets, its just baked into the gems rather than gear now. And expect 6l gems just to be as rare as 6ls are now.
Also expect crafting 6 sockets onto a gem in PoE2 to be as hard as it right now to get a 6l.

I cant imagine they would allow us to literally have 6l gems all over the place for a megere fee of ~300 jewelers each.
Thats not happening or if it does, the increase in mob life to compensate will likely be outrageous.

All Im saying:
Dont get your hopes up too high lads else you are setting up yourself for a massive disappointment.
Over the last couple of leagues, they have already buffed mobs and bosses a lot. Slowed down progress and gameplay. Also done a lot of nerfing on player side. Especially this league....., as if they had to get a lot of it in place for some big coming change.

I agree that they will definitely not make anything easier. That would go against Chris's whole game plan. Remains to be seen if they can balance all the added frustration with good enough content, as people in general are very negative on the current state of the game.

1 click on the bench, or prophecy... no RNG, no CT.
Don't see an issue here.

People are greedy and try linking it themselves because it can be cheaper if you are lucky...

Don't like the RNG... you literally have 4 alternative methods to guarantee it in 1 click.

I agree with Chalace, or you can do the quality trick. I personally never link an armor that doesn't have a quality craft on it or hillock quality, and I have 6L basically everything in under 1000 fuses, usually around 500.

They say that everything that drops has fixed sockets - sockets are not tied to gems

Yes 6 socket items might still be rare but it will probably be just tied to item level or something less rng-bound

This is the max quality possible, still no 6L in 3k+ fusings.

That prophecy is pretty much non-existent, its so absurdly rare. The bench is a viable option but the recipe is hard to get, I haven't found a primeval chamber yet and I'm at depth 200+

Anyway YOU might not see the issue but GGG clearly does, that's why they're getting rid of the socket BS altogether in PoE2. In his interview with ZiggyD, Chris talked specifically about this. They want players to be excited about finding good items and be able to use it instead of discarding it just because of the painful process of linking it.

Sorry to the bearer of bad news but jewelers are not going away in poe2.
