I don't think this was the case. While he did have comparably lower life to some other builds, it looks like everyone who was caught in the blast radius was killed. Watching the video, there were 3 people in total who were killed and the rest of the party members didn't have their life dip enough to be noticeable. If it was truly just their life sucking up the damage, then it should be rather noticeable since we're talking about at least 5k damage. The other party members' life totals, excepting the ones who died, don't move at all when the Kripp and the two others died. Watch the video more closely and focus on the party life totals. Are you really saying that someone should be able to face tank Alira's corpse explosion?

Maybe try to facetank Vaal on hc instead of softcore?:p
