Toxic Relationship with POE

Takes 2 to maintain a "toxic" relationship, think about that.

In my opinion, this sums up my take regarding this topic.

------

The Community always tells GGG that they always repeat & never learn from their mistakes, but in fact, it was the community are the once enabling GGG to commit the same mistakes again & again.

Take a look as an example of what happened on the latest "cursor mtx" outrage. Some members of the community again running & crying in forums telling GGG, they're disgusted, they're quitting & not supporting the game again.

Guess what it's not the first time it happened. Did the community already forget what happened during the Blight/Metamorph/Delirium/ stash tabs? The community have the same reaction when it was announced, people were outrage & threatening GGG that they will stop playing & supporting GGG. Then a few months later, it was all forgotten, & we have broken the concurrent players at launch on Heist league & GGG earn 100M that year.

So what do you think that message sends to GGG? It's ok to make the community upset, just give them something to be excited about next time & they can get us back again to their good grace. And the cycle continues...

So welcome to toxic relationship with PoE. Enjoy your stay until the next screw up.

WHile being sometimeds burnt out or not liking a new league mechanic.. I take my breaks and play different stuff.
But I always come back.. guess I actually like the game ;)
I couldn't agree more.

reddit outrage isnt community outrage.
There is 5 thousand people at most there and the game have millions of players.

out of the dozen people i play with this cursor things is a non issue same things with the stash back then.
You like them ? take them ? you don't ? don't they are not necessary.
Yes even those stash are useless tbh i took them because i think they are pretty but i know people that bought them but actually don't use them in the end (ziz do this for exemple he said it in his last vid).

The "main" subreddit is becoming a mess that is not worth reading at this point.
i've seen some takes in that place that made me wonder if quin is actually the like of einstein when you compare him to those peoples.
To vanquish without perils is to triumph without glory.
PoE wont get mad at you if you look at other games, or even (gasp) play one.

You can even really get into another game without hating on PoE. It will still be here when you decide to come back.

This whole thread is about displacement. You're displacing your feeling towards people onto a thing. My wife does this all the time. She "loves" that old pillow I want to throw out. She "loves" those old flowers that died five years ago. Displacement. It's human nature to do this. But realizing you're doing it can really help.

Diablo 2 players never did.

Let that sink in for a moment.

This. I skipped metamorph till Ritual. Ritual kinda sucked in fact but I had fun learning the leagues I missed. Taking another break cuz Ultimatum is another low effort league plus my inherent burnout. Maybe next year worth playing again
