Sirus is a terrible fight.

Vaal pact vs Sirus is really terrible, last league I gotta regret vaal pact so I would be able to pass the storms and then put it back when fighting. It's just that bad
I'm surprised GGG never made any statement regarding Sirus complaints, like:
"We are doing our best to make the whole game looking like a Sirus fight"
:-D

Imagine dying when all he does is teleport offscreen and fling a laser at you LOL

FTFY
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley

I just skip it completely. GGG has nerfed risk vs reward into the ground.

Eh maybe if you dont have the technique down or the timings but Sirus is incredibly easy. The ques are terrible but ive never six portal wiped on him and usually kill him in the first portal. Only time i die to him is if i double dash by mistake into a cloud. But his clouds usually 80% of the time move to the right atleast for me and he moves to the left so rephasing him is usually less then 3 seconds in an air phase. So not sure where your guys struggle is but to me its technique.

Once you get used to it you can seriously do it with 400k DPS and I have ...

I really don't mind practicing, if GGG could make a "Sirius laser beam classroom", no loot, no exp loss, just a friendly sparring session with our beloved Sirius.

I mean, I only get to fight him like once in a week or so, and limited to 6 portals. Sometimes die without even getting to him so kind of hard to get any practice.

I'm in the same boat.

I only see sirus once a week at best, and so I can't really learn the fight.

At this point I've completely given up trying. When I get to sirus I just run through the portals as fast as I can and then get back to mapping.

This kind of blunt lying/exaggerating that is plaguing any meaningful discussions. Fact of the matter is you can spawn Sirus fight in less then 2 hours if you push for it. Now lets say your build is slow and you not pushing for it, that is still lets say 3 times worse at 6 hours if your goal to actually spawn Sirus and not (delve, heist/ temple/craft etc). Now if your play time is 6 hours a week, then yes you will see him once a week. But then what else do you expect with 6 hours/week play time for a grindy hard game?
There is nothing exaggerating about it.

I have completely given up on sirus, and when the sirus portals come up, I just run through them to close them, and go back to doing other stuff.

The only time I even give sirus a second thought is if I have just leveled, and I don't have to worry about the xp loss.

Use headphones next time you fight him.

The visuals cues arent easy to spot when you arent used to the fight and kinda in chicken/panic mode.
But his voice cues are very clear and all you need to know is where he is after he teleported. Thats key to dodge his die beam.

Or you could just build specific defenses to ignore the beam and tank it.

It takes a few attempts but once you understand the mechanics its easy - just like any other boss in this game.

There's the key words. "A few attempts"

At one attempt (6 portals) per week, which typically includes 3-4 deaths from sirus flying offscreen and 1 shotting me, progress isn't terribly fast. Sorry, but losing whole bars of xp to this fiasco just isn't worth it.

Gratz to you though, glad its easy.
