The Trialmaster is way too rare.

Just adding myself to this group of players, who never ever saw the Taskmaster. I am on tier 14/15/16 maps from day 3, i think that i fail the Ultimatum once every 30-40 encounters. I never ever saw the Taskmaster encounter, i don't do challenges but i still want to see the encounter. The group of players that i play with fight the boss 3-5 times per day.
Recheck it, its ridiculous ... |

Same here, i'm at AL7 and doing every ultimatum as I go. No trialmaster and what's even stranger, I haven't seen a single 9 wave either. Most of them end at 7 waves, even in t16 maps.

Apparently GGG said it doesnt need to be a high tier area as well, at least from what someone else said to me. So ill agree, pretty strange i havent experienced the actualy trial fight, though ive received plenty of inscribed ultimatums.
Not sure i believe the statement either, assuming the person who said that GGG actually said that was telling the truth. The only time ive seen round 9s have been on corrupted, rippy as hell rolled, 8+ maps. Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

" It doesn't have to be, but the frequency is 2x more in t14+ maps from what Bex said in her reddit post. I've run plenty of corrupted 130+ iiq maps in order to get atlas completion (sitting at 150 now) and it seems to be purely random and nothing to do with map mods. I specifically rolled a char so I can run every map mod even double reflect/no regen and haven't found that affecting rewards or no. of rounds at all. "Yeah i mean ive run virtually every ultimatum as well, so im pretty surprised at this. Theres one that ive been ignoring though because its clearly completely bugged and broken which is the monsters enrage one. Thats a pretty shocking rarity all things considered, i dont know if theres a way to directly check how many maps youve run outside general completion but ive run tons myself. Ive seen tons of people get exalts from it however, the rewards are clearly there when by the end you generally have 2-4 Exalts or better from it. Ive gotten exalts from it as well plenty of times along with a plethora of 5L uniques and other harder to find uniques. I think the risk/reward factor for it is fine but if theyre worried about people trying to get those rewards in super low level content they could easily adjust the rewards so people can at least learn the fight and get completion for it. Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

You can check the number of maps you ran by using mapwatch (google it). Note, that it is not entirely accurate in every point. However, I decided to use it to check up on this 2% rule.
Mapwatch takes the client log as input. I searched for the first time Sirus appeared in a map for me (only happens at 4 watchstones) and deleted the log from before that point. All maps ran after that point would be T14+. It counted about 400 maps and the same amount of Trialmasters. I failed or retreated a total of 10 times during 400 Trialmaster encounter, so I roughly completed 400 of them on T14+. Yet I only saw 4 Trialmasters (1% chance per map) up until now. Didn't do the math here, if that's still a likely outcome. Doesn't change the fact that it's too rare. My point right now mainly is that the RNG factor is a bad design. I am trying to complete the fourth conditional challenge. It's difficult but that's not my issue. My issue is that I cannot prepare for it properly. I am on a 100 map dry streak right now as well, just failing one of the encounters due to lag. The Trialmasters and his challenges are frustratingly bad in the current state. If I see him once a day I would count myself lucky.

I'm curious how many rounds is everyone getting on average? I find even 8 rounds to be extremely rare, most of them end at 7 round and I haven't skipped one in forever. Maybe just bad rng for me, not even a 9 round so far :/

" The average appears to be 7 waves. I sometimes get 6 but never below that. More waves are rare. We know that the number of waves is decided once you open the map. So there is probably some distribution set for this. 10 waves is simply the rarest option I guess. Last edited by AlphaRage#4933 on May 6, 2021, 7:41:58 AM
