WTF Dual Wield Wand??
"No, because dual weilding comes with an built in, multiplicative 10% attack speed bonus, which si a 10% boost to DPS under all circumstances. Dual wielding will only drop DPS if the off hand DPS isd more than 10% below the main hand "No it's not, the point of dual wielding is not 'do more damage' it's being able to hit more quickly, by swinging one after the other, which is why dual wielding does exactly that - 10% multiplicative attack speed. People dual wielding impressively in movies and so on don't usually just swing both weapons at the same time, at the same frequency they would swing one weapon, they take advantage of being able to move one weapon in for another strike while pulling the first back to ready it again, giving a notable boost to how often they attack, but hitting with one at a time. | |
actually i think the lower dps weapon can be as low as 82% the dps of the other one and still maintain overall damage

"Yeah, I kinda knew that would be wrong when I posted it, but couldn't be bothered doing the math myself as I'm quite busy. So yeah, in the base case the off hand weapon needs to have less than 82% of the DPS of the main hand for dual wielding to reduce DPS. Obviously investing in dual wield nodes screws that up a bit. |
