Possible Trade Fix
" Are you referring to Trade and SSF? Thats a simple fix. SSF players can get increased rare crafting orb drops, ie exalts. However, should they transfer to trade, the currency stays behind as a trade off. Increased currency drops, but you can't take it with you. Seeing as the currency system is based on trading, that would balance it out for them. For players in the Trade league, who don't trade, well, don't play Trade league. That's really not that hard of a concept. If you rely on others to play the game, trade amongst yourselves. Balance is trash in the game, there are few things that are over-powered, whereas most of the items and skill gems are extremely lackluster at best. Most uniques aren't even being used in any build. Just look at leveling: Tab, Wonder, Goldrim. Everything else is just filler until you find rares that are better for your build. The point is to make trading not only efficient (using a map portal just to trade is inefficient, and most people don't want to wait until your done) but also fair. Most players know item worth, and even still, how many sites can you research to find it. Outside of Sirus, trading is the most complained issue with the game that players have. Do you have a suggestion instead? Everything I have suggested addressed the issues in the manifesto, from 1.5 years ago. Then again, I guess we could all try and stream and get that streamer RNG. |

I like OP idea.
By the way, If GGG wants to balance "easy" trade, they can introduce a kind of Orb of trade to register an item in the tab, or cap the number of buy orders per hours. It's just unfortunate GGG will never read any suggestion from this forum or admit their current trade system is a total failure. |

" Maybe they would, maybe not. Something a crafter needs is a base, and you're pretty restricted on optimal bases to use for something like a double influence chest. They could remove migration to parent league/standard for SSF and have SSF standard leagues that their characters migrate to and not allow them out of SSF. HCSSF migrates to Standard SSF if they die. To combat rampant botting and price fixing we could limit the amount of items a person can list for trade. Since GGG doesn't like trade why not limit the amount of things you can have for trade at once? Would be an extremely hard sell because lots of people have spent money on these tabs so we can use them to list items (myself included) but I can imagine it might have a good effect on things like the trade api being super slow and bogged down at times among other issues due to so many requests. All in all, at this point it would be a major overhaul of the game itself and how we play it if they ever make a major change with trade and I don't know if the devs are confident that it would change it for the better. A lot of people with a lot of different opinions play this game and you can see this just by scouring the forums or reddit. |

" I'm specifically NOT referring to SSF... The majority of the PoE players (read the trade manifesto) doesn't trade! They don't read the forums, nor do they read reddit, nor do they play SSF (as that is not the default option when creating a character)... Those players AND the trading minority has to be accommodated under the same balance. Nobody has yet suggested a system (apart from massive 'soul binding') that can facilitate that, apart from restricting trade as is currently done. It doesn't work perfectly (by a long shot), but it works! GGG has a couple of red lines that are not to be crossed: - No soul binding - No mandatory trading You may agree with them or not, but they(!) set the rules. Whatever suggestion you want to come up with need to work with them. Your suggested system doesn't... |
