Ultimatum - Crash to desktop - No error

same here, alot of crashes since last league for me but especially with ultimatum encounters and since i have my new 5950x ryzen cpu

also playing blade vortex poison assassin.
Im also crashing a lot (over 50% of ultimatums end in a hard crash to desktop without error), playing an Araakali Fang Guardian.
I'd like to add to this thread; as I'm crashing too, but under certain circumstances.

I've been playing this league a ton, some days 14hrs+, with no crashes. When the time hits 12:00 midnight PST, I constantly crash afterwards for about an hour or so, regardless of what I'm doing - AFK in the hideout, changing zones, doing maps, etc. No rhyme or reason, just a stutter and force closed to desktop with no error messages or anything. Seems strange that I can play consistently for almost 14hrs, then a certain time comes around and I crash constantly. I almost always have netflix and discord open on Chrome, but this has never been an issue before.

I've also noticed that immediately prior to the crash, my CPU & GPU usage goes straight to 100% for a second and then crash. This is relatively strange considering I use a Ryzen 3700x and a 1080Ti, and play PoE on 60FPS cap for the most consistent stability. It's also relatively strange considering this happens when I'm sitting in my hideout (minimal GPU usage, and around 20% CPU usage). These are the same PC specs I've played previous leagues on with no issues whatsoever. Seeing what other people have been posting, it seems to be an issue with Ryzen CPU's.

I suggest using a monitoring program, such as CPUid, or even task manager to see if my symptoms match any of your guys. Everyone just standing in a mob shouting "yep I crashed to desktop with no reason" isn't really helping, maybe we can help to narrow something down.

PC Specs for reference:
Win10 latest update
870evo SSD (Poe Install)
Ryzen 3700x
ASUS GTX1080ti
CORSAIR 64gb 3200ghz RAM

Good luck guys, lets see what we come up with.
Possible fix to this problem:

- After removing all the skill MTXs, ive not had crashes to desktop in the last 15 ultimatums. I was using the following MTXs:

- Stygian Herald
- Automaton Ball Lightning
- Misery Aura
- Stygian Desecrate

Same crash here, where is GGG team for fix that fast ! How we can enjoy a league when 50% of the time crash during Ultimatum encounter.
ooo fixed my ultimatum crashes so far by either switching off dynamic culling or switchin to vulkan
THINK I FIXED IT!


So I was given a tip by a friend who had a similar issue and he recommended that I uninstall the latest Windows Driver from April 19th 2021. I uninstalled it, restarted my pc, and I have not crashed in over 15~ ultimatums. Not sure if it was the issue but so far everything is fine!

Windows update kb5001330 was the problem.


Uninstalling the update:

Open Settings

Search for Windows Update Settings

Scroll down to View Update History

Click on Uninstall Updates

Find Security Update for Windows (KB5001330 OR KB5001337) and uninstall.

Hope this helps anyone else having these issues!
