Glacial Cascade miner
Vortex Cold Snap Occultist Blade Fall/Blade Blast (various) Caustic Arrow/Toxic Rain + Ballista Support Raider Avoid slammers. They are powerful, but your left hand will hate you. Honestly, skip Ultimatum trials after you hit maps. You can get better rewards for less risk, come back to them (maybe) once your gear is solid. |

" 1) Nothing can hit you ballistas kill everything really fast. 2) Really high evasion more than 20k easy donw with 1 ex 3) Tons of uniques? Lol yes... Oh let's see: a) Iron commander 5L - 2c b) Boots (now 70c) Start of league after 1 week it will be 20c max c) Helm (Fractal thoughts) - 2c d) Belt (cyclopean coil) - 5-10c e) Amulet (Astramentis) - 40c f) Quiver - 15c Even with 1ex investments - this build will rip Tier 10 maps. |

" 1. Do you know what ssf means? 2. t10 maps are a joke, and the fact that you think this is supposed to be impressive says how inexperienced you are. 3. 20k evasion on a build that is trying to stack evasion is shit. 4. 4k life without anything else is shit no matter how you good you think it is. |

" Lol then almost NO build is good in SSF playing 3-4 hours a day. About Ballistas - check my profile there will be ballistas hierophant - EASY done ALL bosses except Atziri. It seems that this build is "Glass" but in real - this build rips everything and i was dying less than "blockman build". |

" champion slam max block scion esanguinate ed/c trickster blade blast on anything toxic rain on anything minion builds cyclone on anything pretty much any battlemage variant All of this works with little to no gear. They are so much tankier. Their damage is worse than balista but if you played your balista build in ssf it would do shit dps too without all those uniques. |

@LordVitar: Exactly. You need to redefine what you mean by "good". You've taken the meaning of that term from people who trade. They're easily getting 100x the progress as a SSF player can expect. That's like turning your 3-4 hours per day into 300-400 hours per day... Impossible, as you say.
Don't compare the two playstyles and don't just think that SSF is "harder". It's not. It's different. It has different goals. Last edited by Shagsbeard#3964 on Apr 20, 2021, 3:41:43 PM

Yeah, SSF is about looking at the passive tree and thinking "that looks interesting, why don't I give it a try?"
And then seeing how far you can get with the resources the game hands you. The trade league is about high performance speed boats. The SSF league is about seeing how much wind you can catch in your sails. 'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

Choose here https://poe.ninja/challengessf/builds.
It's better if you learn how to choose your own build that will suit your requirement & playstyle. Learning how to choose your own build & adapting/changing your build to what you have is the number 1 lesson you should learn if you want to play long in SSF. Learning to be self-sufficient & not relying upon others will also come a long way. "A game IS supposed to waste your time but it's not supposed to make you FEEL like you're wasting your time:
It's supposed to make you WANT to waste your time." |
