So, testing out this new patch......The Ledge is a straight forward zone, pathing is pretty simple, but previously what bothered me here was:

I was constantly watching my Zombies run into and out of the fights...I assumed it was do to lack of room around the mob to be attacked.

They would run 5yards back and forth periodically.

Well now:

They just completely disappear off the screen and never return. I literally have to run backwards approx 30yards to have them appear by my side again.

All I gotta say is ..DUDE, wtf?!?! :)

I think it's because they heard of the new monster AI patch and their self preservation has kicked in.

Gonna reply to this and bump, I mentioned it to Chris in-game when he had a second and said he would look into it, if we could get a GGG member to let us know more that would be nice...

Since the patch I have noticed unusual behavior from minions myself.

1: When you summon, there seems to be an increased delay in casting, but also in increase in response time of the summons. So roughly a second to animate the zombie cast, roughly another second before the zombie moves and begins to respond.

2: If you move away from the summons too fast(i.e offscreen from summons), they will vanish. This doesn't happen every time, but has been very consistent on this patch. Note this can happen during the delay of the summon on cast, or anytime after being summoned. Sometimes after being summoned, they don't move at all.

3: So far, zombie AI seems to have taken a step back. I've noticed at 4 zombies I have had a little less problems with AI(I believe due to the number of summons closely matching the number of mobs nearby, and also the damage output being stronger.) At 1-2 zombies however, one will seem to go offscreen into an area I had already cleared, and will more often than not have the vanishing problem again.

4: Their response time to attack an enemy (not the attacks themselves, but the time it takes them to target) seems to have diminished as well.

I have also noticed that when I run and find them sometimes they are right where they last killed a mob just standing there not moving.

Happens more so to 1-2 of them than a group....I always try and cast the full group, so Ill also try this with just 1-2 total in play.

I'll test this out! See whether this is an AI problem, or a new sync/stun problem.

I made that topic concerning the AI yesterday ( and another issue). I am 95% sure that it's the AI, since this patch came with a lot of AI changes and before the zombies were decently programmed.
I also noticed that my brainless zombies became even less smart. I am glad someone opened a thread about it already.

I had similar disappearing zombie issues. I'm pretty sure they're disappearing as opposed to running off and dying because when I summon a new one, sometimes one of the zombies that followed will die, even though I'm below my cap. I couldn't reproduce this running around a cleared level, but even one or two enemies behind a chokepoint seemed to make it happen.

Tested with 4 and 5 zombies in a variety of areas in late act 1 and the beginning of act 2.

This issue was not present before the 0.9.9 patch.
Forgot to add, returning to the area I was at before the zombies disappeared will sometimes cause them to reappear.
