" Just search for Earthquake Bleed Glad. This Gem will meake up for the lost 60% to deal 100% more dmg I think. |

" If you skim the reddit post there is a theory that it uses the same mechanics as other ailments and if you apply that math you need to hit shaper for around 65k to get the full 50% buff. Seems pretty reasonable to me if true. Also- just appreciate the idea of a new hybrid playstyle. I am wondering though twhen the damage on hit is snapshotted- pre or post mitigation. |

" I'm not sure where you get the 65k hit needed to get the full dmg. The main text was straightforward, 3.2% life to get the full 50% bonus while a 0.01% hit will grant the 15% bonus. Based on that, they determined the function for the damage multiplier was likely (x/100)^(0.2) where x is the % life that the hit makes up of the total. Now based on shaper having 74 million life, and 1 pct of his life being 740k, you'd have to hit shaper for ~2.2 million damage to get the full 50% more brutality buff. A 65k hit of damage, as you say, would be equal to 0.086% of life, which is comes out to ~24% DOT multi, with cruelty increased effect of 25%, the total dot multi should be about 30%. My character does about 120k dmg with a hit of earthquake aftershock, and with cruelty eff added in, I'm looking at around 35% more. I was looking into this gem as I am currently running unbound ailments, and other alternative I was looking into was cruelty and swift affliction. Thus far, it seems swift affliction is the clear winner in terms of DPS, but unbound ailments still does more damage over time, if you follow the slow hit and run style of ailment application. The conclusion is that cruelty is good for handling mapping and bosses with a lot of summons, but in a 1v1 fight such a sirius, cruelty is a poor choice to use for your gem socket. |
