Trigger Socketed Spell when you use a skill

These are some interesting ideas.

But what about the following Set up.

I drop Elemental Equilibrium and use Elemental Overload. Instead of orb of storms ilI use frostbite.

Wouldnt that be better?
At the point I obtain frostbite on a ring, maybe Elemental Overload with orb of storms is doing more dmg, but before maybe EO with Socketed Frostbite is better?

You should be doing all of these things. Using EE and EO together and having an applicable curse should be baseline requirements for this build. If you don't have the curse on a ring use Hextouch with your orb of storms or just self-cast it.

Making EE work on this (or any) build can be a pain, but the dps involved is worth it, especially for elemental DOT builds.

Another way to consider is using Malachai's Artifice to apply EE only to your orb of storms. This has it's own drawbacks as it takes a valuable ring slot and forces you to self-cast OoS
