Zerker changes
So guys I gotta ask am I moron and don't understand or is
Defy Pain Gain Defiance for 10 seconds on losing Life to an Enemy Hit, no more than once every 0.3 seconds. 25% increased Armour per Defiance. 50% increased Maximum total Life recovery per second from Leech while you have Defiance. At 10 Defiance, take Reflected Physical Damage equal to maximum Life, then lose all Defiance. the worst ascendancy node of all time? It genuinely looks like a node that is actively bad, even if it was free I wouldn't take this node. Last bumped on Apr 16, 2021, 12:01:05 PM

" I swear they keep searching for ways to make Berserk a terrible choice. They can't seem to find the right balance of upside and downside with the berserker. If it were on being hit, rather than hit by an enemy, it might be more fun. That being said, maybe it might be fun as a meme CWDT node? Thanks for all the fish!

I'd say it's a potentially good node but it needs building around it and it's in the wrong ascendancy.
Essentially you get more leech and lots of increased armor but every 3 seconds you get hit by 5-6k physical damage that gets reduced by your buffed armor, other phys mitigation and, this isn't trivial, reduced phys reflect damage. There is also the fact that it specifically says "lose life". Though i don't see ES based zerkers becoming a thing. On a class like jugg this node might make sense, you will be running around with lots of phys mitigation anyway to the point where don't even notice the damage taken. On Zerker though... Kinda useless, especially considering how common Abyssus is on Zerker builds. Hardly any Zerker build will have enough phys mitigation to deal with this. " I would assume the damage taken from the reflected damage is mitigated some by the 250% armor you'll get from defiance, but it creates a negative feedback to increasing your maximum life as it will increase the damage taken (considering how armor works). They should have offered up more in the swap space for it. I tend to think Beserker should be like Huskar from DOTA2 though; specifically in terms of increased benefits for losing life in terms of battle prowess and defenses. Thanks for all the fish! Out of curiosity I'm making a dodge/ev berserker. I made one these past few days on standard and it feels pretty good.
I read that ascendancy and thought it was going in the wrong direction with berserker. Nothing in that node works well with the rest of the nodes. If you take AoC on top of being naturally lower in phys mitigation you'll just get gibbed by the spike. Or it'll happen at the most inopportune time to smack you dead. It's not a one shot of course. I'm just spitballing how it'll play out in combat. Just one bad interval with a boss and you're dead if this thing procs. |

the think is the zerkers i make usually have 7-8k life, getting hit for 8k phys is practically a boss slam and the fact you largely don't have control of when you get hit just makes it the single worst drawback of any node.
Frankly I think this is more likely to get you killed than aspect of carnage significantly. |

As i said, it strongly depends on the build. I'd kill for that node on my jugg who has shock immunity and 100% reduced reflect damage taken on top of armor and endurance charges. The node literally has no drawback there. But i can't see myself using that on my Zerker, even with 6k life and 2k ES from Corrupted blood it's not worth it. Would have to make a completely different build for that.

I suppose you could do a corrupted soul build so that you still lose life on hits and the reflected damage will be less if you’re a hybrid build.
Still not worth it. The node needs a bigger upside. Like part of leech being instant; akin to a min Vaal Pact of old. Thanks for all the fish! Last edited by Nubatron#4333 on Apr 14, 2021, 9:07:56 AM

" Ok this is a good take, seems a bit strange to have a node reliant on taking no reflected phys damage but I can buy that it'd be a decent node without drawbacks. |

IMO convenient life/mana leech was more useful. They should have kept 1% each on the node.
I doubt I’ll ever use it, tbh. We're all in this leaky boat together, people.
