Melee nerf really

I think all nerfs were good and justified. I find Chainbreaker still worrisome as it undermines the identity of Berserker for very low cost. 1 Rage per hit with a cooldown for Crave the Slaughter vs Manaregen for ridiculous supply of rage.

Gotta wait the patch notes for the full picture. The divergent Berserk got nerfed but the movement speed/less damage taken is still there.

Edit: The reason why i think Flesh and Stone nerf is fine because it was abused by casters/miners/ranged (as usual) plus if we look at melee in a bubble without comparing it to spells etc. then we see a strong dominance of pure physical support like Brutality, Stone and Flesh, Maim support gem effect, Banners, Pride, Herald of Purity.
Compared to Elemental melee attacks there is no banner with real benefits for Elemental attacks or Flesh and Stone would only provide blind and less dmg taken as a benefit without the benefits of the blood stance part. Also no supports like reverse brutality "cant deal non elemental damage". And of course no Pride like aura of ele attacks.

In that bubble where only melee exists it was a good choice. Given the bigger picutre with spells, ranged, mines, summoners its a melee nerf for sure.

I don’t disagree, I just wish there were more defensive mana reservation buffs that could be realistically slotted on some of the ranged characters who do need them (less powerful than flesh and stone, obviously). Arctic armour ain’t great.
We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

well.. FaS is and is going to be a no brainer choice for the one and only unaffected party: aura bots. thats alone is a sign the nerf went the wrong way

second.. does it really hurt melee? melee dies to spells, elemental spells far more than anything else. endgame bosses rarely if ever attack you and if they do - i is lousy autoattack you dont care about. melee or not melee. it is the endgame fights design that is fundamentally flawed. you having 0 or 100000 evasion in MOST endgame fights makes exactly 0 difference

mapping is different but.. honestly, if you let mobs attack you - your build sucks anyway (melee in general fails this step more often than not but it is not 'melee only problem)

problem is: at 35% this skill is.. useless. it got nerfed for 'sand' part, yet 'blood' part is total crap even at 25%, EVEN for phys builds. noone is going to spend extra passives to fix that. passives are THE most precious build resource, you dont waste them just like that

Blood and Sand - 10% reservation, 15% more damage
Flesh and Stone - 35% reservation, 16-20% more damage depending on if you link it or not + maim. maim is useless because you have 4 other sources of it even if you dont care.

this is the problem. people who get its benefit for free (aurabots) are unaffected, casters/archers (standof type) might pay more but still use it in sand stance only (this part of the nerf is ok) melee players.. will drop it because the blood part sucks massively and sand is useless vs bosses

4/10 change, needs improvements

But off-topic but.

Wouldnt Enfeeble + Blasphemy be the better allround dmg reduction choice now that reservation costs are the same and DR is not conditional and works vs most types of damage.
Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks
Enfeeble isn't a good defense choice. First there is the curse limit and the fact that you usually want to take an offensive curse instead. Second there is the fact that most endgame bosses, where you want the defense in the first place, have massive curse effect reduction on top of enfeeble being weaker against bosses. So yeah, not a replacement and not a good choice.
They should change the aura effect to "reduce #% enemies' accuracy" and adjust the #% to be suit for 25% reservation.

Directly increasing aura reservation just ruin many Standard melee builds.
Honestly i would use Aspect of the Spider instead
Need more brains, exile?
