The Larger Issue with Crafting and the Current State of Items in the Game

Also introduction of item sets would be interesting, as many players love collecting those and it keeps people playing a lot. (yes the tradability here might be a problem, as it might easily kill the rarity of set pieces)

GGG, as well as much of the playerbase, have always been clear that they're against set items. The closest we've come is the Bestiary 'sets', which are still only thematically linked (not to mention completely unnecessary if all you want is to use the Aspect) as they don't actually tie in to each other.

There's a myriad of reasons for why sets are detrimental to loot and gearing in ARPGs, but suffice to say this is one decision that I suspect has support with much of the playerbase (or at least whatever portion of it actually speaks up).

Other examples would be a stamina bar or charms (both in D2, but cut from PoE).

Spoiler
Though PoE did eventually come up with its own version of 'charms' - reinvented as jewels (yep!)

Yeah, the more I think about this one, the more I think it won't work well in PoE, which is kinda shame, because it is rly good in other ARPGs, could be a thing for SSF tho, might make it different in a way. But still...dunno... it was just a random idea

I don’t like crafting. I don’t Want crafting. I hate the direction of POE. Give me a league with no item crafting ( orb crafting dropped rares is fine ) but this harvest / influenced mod crafting has just killed the game for me. Played since open beta. This is not an arpg anymore. Loot does not matter, crafting mods does. It’s not fun. It’s not fun. It’s not FUN. Have I mentioned it’s not fun? I want to have fun again. Job of crafting is not a game, it’s a crafting simulator.

Im giving my vouch to that as fellow player who started i guess too long time ago. I feel the same bro. Some of my mates who still play POE ride the tide and spend tons of time to craft anything. When they say that instead of playing they hunt for horti crafts on discord i want to vomit. To play the game you dont play the game.

Anyway, neither this thread or hundred of others matter since ggg dont give a shit either way and most likely will do everything Chinese owner dictates. Current POE wont change and to me there is just one hope that poe2 might be better.
