This is pretty awesome...

It's like the (not so) secret cow level... but incredibly secret and hard to farm.

Just need to farm a million hours with a fishing rod equipped and we're good to go.

In other news, cast speed as featured on fishing rods DOES apply to spell casting speed :D

It does, it does. It can be easily tested with Reefbane, which is the only Unique fishing rod that stately does not require Fairgraves' hat in order to be dropped. Wikia too states that, while it is a wordplay about "casting a fishing line" it indeed applies to castSpd

About the reddit - did you know that Fairgraves' Tricorne actually grants a "+x% chance for enemies to drop an addictional Fishing Rod"? As in, the chance for a Fishing Rod to drop from enemies is not influenced by IIQ. Tests were done in a -100% IIQ environment (no loot dropped, obtained via Aurumvorax + lots of Combustible) and Fishing Rods still popped up.

It's always a nice reminder that there are some drops, ingame, that do not care about you being a MF character.
