Why does no one link GMP with LMP for Freezing Pulse?

Once LMP is leveled all the way, it has no downside besides mana cost.
GMP only suffers a small (12%?) downside after being leveled. Is it because of the mana cost? |

Maybe because those effects don't stack? Huh, what a strange but obvious answer.

You should probably know that the bonus damage you get from levelling up GMP/LMP is "x% increased projectile damage" (additive) and the penalty you get for using those gems is "30%/50% less projectile damage" (multiplicative).
Those two don't cancel each other out. Not even close. |

" Uh, yes, pretty sure GMP and LMP stack. I've never tried it with freezing pulse, but I don't see why it wouldn't. In answer to the OP's question, the reason people don't stack them (or even use GMP that much) is because freezing pulse is powerful in that the waves overlap one another. USUALLY you can only get a small number of pulses to overlap (like around 3) causing a 5k freezing pulse to hit for 15k. I'm actually not even sure you could get 5 pulses (with just GMP) to overlap. I mean, you'd be hitting more guys, sure, but I seriously doubt this alone would make up for the significant mana cost increase. |

" The wiki definitely says you can put both LMP and GMP on a skill gem for 6 additional projectiles. LMP gives you 2 additional, and GMP gives you another 4. |
