So Chris... Matt Uelmen for music?

...what are the chances of hiring Matt Uelmen to do music for PoE?

The game has a great atmosphere so far and the music is nice, but i think a lot of people would agree when I say Matt would make everything a lot more intense!

I don't know buddy. Matt is doing awesome music..we know it..But honestly, I really love what is coming from my speakers. PoE music is great IMO. I wouldn't even consider to replace current PoE music composer...not even for Matt.

Indeed it's nice, I especially like the Forest Encampment music... but there is that itch for an old feeling.

i imagine it would be a slight conflict of interest being that he's (hopefully) working on Torchlight II at Runic.

having said that, there's a definite change in atmosphere playing PoE while the Diablo soundtracks are playing. game gets super menacing and it fits very very well (plus i think my loot gets better!)

Have to admit, I called for something similar earlier on as well, but I think PoE does just fine with Uelmen-esque music, in that it has touches of its own. Love the Forest Encampment and the Brutcher's Theme (bwaha). Also, I think the music for the Shore Encampment, while not as iconic as Tristram, is definitely something that has come to trigger in me certain feelings, and none of those feelings are 'why am I not listening to my mp3s instead?'

After barely a month of play, that's a good thing.

I would take offense at that if I was the current composer for PoE :P

I'm happy with the current soundtrack.

I very much adore the soundtrack to POE, but we don't really know much about the story yet, so its hard to judge if it will fit in line with the lore and universe of POE. or it would benefit for being more demonic. but so far its really good. i especially like the music played in some of the dungeons in Act 2. Church Dungeon for one.

I must say that I love the current soundtrack as well.
The art combined with the soundtrack, perfectly make a morbid and creepy atmosphere.
Kudos to the guy(s) that made the soundtrack!

agree.

about both the theme and the church dungeon audio. i've spent hours down there.

(also ... i wasn't joking about the loot. D2 soundtrack meant super loot in fellshrine on a bunch of solo runs. now you know my secret!)
