Game will not launch

Update: I did a complete reinstall of Windows and that fixed my issue.

" OK, that was super interresting info for others to get. Was your windows an upgrade from a previous version or ? |
|
" Not an upgrade when I did a complete reinstall. I just reinstalled Windows 10. I did have a Windows update on February 16th (the day I noticed PoE would not open) and thought maybe that was the issue. No future Windows update fixed my problem, so a complete reinstall was my last ditch effort to make sure I could play when Ultimatum releases next week. |

I think many people got this problem right now. My game crashes without any error message 1 sec after the ggg intro appears. This must have something to do with the shaderchache. I don't want to reinstall windows again, plz help us to fix this!

" if it was purely "shadercache" related, then a windows reinstallation would not change anything. |
|
" Well I haven't changed anything, I tried to delete folders as mentioned in other posts, I reinstalled POE. My windows 10 installation is about 2 months old. POE worked for me at Ritual league start. I searched my Harddrive for shadercache folder, but haven't found anything. Would love to try something, but I will try to avoid to reinstall windows again. Hey all, having this issue as well on my computer. It's basically brand new, out of the box, with Window's 10 and I could not understand why I was having this issue.
First I unsynced my Onedrive that was acting as my C drive basically (and seemed to be causing problems with this). Then I disabled my firewall temporarily and reset permissions. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times during all of this- it did not work. Checked the pack check, it repeatedly said the file was corrupted. After each re-install the client shortcut would disappear and say it was deleted or removed(which makes absolutely no sense). After struggling with all of this, I realised that even though I was uninstalling and reinstalling the game onto my computer, the files were still in my x86 file folder despite the uninstall. It seemed that the files just weren't removing themselves, and I was trying to load/reload already corrupt install. I am wondering if the issue is something with the x86 program folder. I fixed the problem by deleting the Grinding Gear Games folder from my Program Files(x86) folder AFTER it was uninstalled, and then upon re-install I chose to relocate the game location to just C:\Grinding Gear Games. It is working fine now, and launches perfectly. I hope if anyone else is still struggling in 2021, that this helps. Last edited by Rainerudhiel#5590 on May 27, 2021, 1:29:44 AM

Dropped by to say, i am one of the players who can't access the game after the recent patch update too.
My game just stuck at the first loading screen - the two gears are stop rotating and my screen hang there. Went through the recommendations mentioned, a. validated my file integrity and everything is good b. uninstalled and reinstalled POE; however, still cant work (still crashed) c. my Steam is on my D-drive, and so does my POE - so, don't think my main drive is limiting the game access.. Anyway, GGG, please look into this matter urgently |
