It's also weird to me how nonchalant ggg was about just scrapping the whole thing despite how much work was put into it and how rich Synthesis was in content. Cavas' VO alone had more content than the following 3 leagues that came after Synthesis.

Another funny thing were those same people screeching about how Synthesis items are insane powercreep with the corny catchphrase "Synthesis was a mistake", while casually ignoring the thing that powercreeped the game the most in my 10 years of playing it, the awakener orb and conqueror influenced items. Tailwind and Elusive, literally 2 ascendancies on a pair of boots is fine, Baran's explode chest mod is fine, but Synthesised explode implicit on bows is somehow insane powercreep and must be removed to save the almighty game balance lmao.

I also appreciate how Blight, Legion & Metamoprh went core, it's simply unbelievable how great in quality and rich in content those 3 are, I mean metamoprh has a whole FIVE different organ types, can you believe that? And somehow Synthesis isn't good enough to be a part of the game's core.

The whole situation with Synthesis is filled with so much hypocrisy both from the community and from ggg.

I will mention 1 possibly redeemable aspect however, it seems that ggg isn't a 100% giving up on Synthesis and forgetting about it. Harvest allowed you to fracture and Synthesise items, Heist drops them too, Ritual offers them quite frequtnely as well, they re-added the Boss fights as unique maps, so certain parts of Synthesis are still present in the game, which gives me some hopefully not false hope that eventually the whole thing will return, perhaps in a polished way? Who knows.

The other commenter with his poe 4.0 speculation is possibly onto something promissing regarding the comeback of Synthesis.
