Crimson Township boss need a serious rework
So he is different to most bosses in that he's one that forces you to learn the mechanic. If you try to just dps him quickly/soak what he throws at you, then yes, he can delete any toon no matter their stats in fairly short order.
Actually, it was doing him on a low dps toon that taught me the mechanic. Just chip away at his life total 'til he spawns a minion (they blend into the background and can be tricky to see, but if that's all you're looking for you'll spot when they pop up). Soon as you see one, stop 'all' damage on the boss and focus on the minion (if you're some kind of screen clearing monster with a zillion summons or the like, I actually suggest taking most gems out before the fight. Low steady damage, even if you're just bonking him on the head with the end of your wand, just be damn sure you're able to stop damaging him when the time comes). Kill his minion quick smart (they're what add the overlapping death fields to the area), then start slowly chipping away at the boss again. Can promise if you do it that way, you'll laugh at how little damage the boss actually does. He really is a one trick wonder... |

This thread got necro´d and is no longer relevant.
2 years ago this boss would smoke most builds and there was little to do about it other than deleting the boss instantly. |

" I can't possibly agree with this any more strongly. The issue isn't that this boss actually has mechanics which punish players who refuse to learn them, the issue is that almost no other map boss does. I'd like to see a shift to this being the norm, rather than the exception; I use the fireworks back attachment on most of my builds because otherwise I wouldn't even know that I had fought a boss.
