Game crashes to desktop with no error - UNPLAYABLE

hey all again.

I want to give an update!

after I tried nearly everything, smt, lasso, reinstall on hdd/ssd and every kind of nvidia settings I gave up.

Like many others I refreshed forum threads over and over for news/ fixes.

then I went into the game, asked in global chat, if anyone has read about an official response (I thought I get shitstorm, but many players tried to help)

ONE GUY asked a simple question - "what's the name of the poe process in your task manager?"
- PathOfExileSteam (32bit)
"are you running 32 bit windows or 64?"
- 64, hey wait, what? why is poe running on 32 bit???

This couldn't be that easy. But different Bit systems use different Ram options and last update changed the useage of Ram, right?

LETS TRY THIS

reinstalled steam because my PoEx64.exe in poe folder didnt start in 64, always in 32-bit version. Played 3 maps now, all rituals, 2x Delirium inside..... no crash or freeze at all

Open PoE , take a look in your taskmanager and maybe u still run 32 bit like me. This is something more you can try. Hope it helps, hope it stays crash free here

( gonna update IF if crash again and again )
First off, thanks a lot for one of the most awesome leagues I played so far.

It's a pity that a patch that I assume was supposed to fix problems made the whole game unstable and unplayable.

I had no issues at all but since the patch the problems are endless.

Client Crash occurs randomly when:
- Opening Atlas
- Opening Inventory
- Opening Crafting Bench
- Interacting with NPC
- Entering Hideout
- Entering Maps
- Entering Mine
- Harbinger Spawn
- Beyond Spawn
- Breaches
- ...

Occurences are random and it is not possible to tighten the circumstances for the crash to occur.

No error message or anything at all.

Windows 10
Ryzen 5 1600X
RX580
Bios drivers - up to date
Graphics driver - up to date

Windowed Mode -> Crashing
Fullscreen -> Crashing
DirectX -> Crashing
Vulcan -> Crashing
Multithreading Disabled -> Crashing
Permutations among the above parameters -> Crashing

I think the input the community provided to investigate the issue is more than enough at this point.

Good luck on finding a fix, I hope we get to enjoy this league content soon as well as the other lucky lukes :)
I'm having the same issues, same results after the same troubleshooting that I've seen here.

Ryzen 7 / 2070 Super / 16gb Ram
awww this is nice,yesterday i could at least play 5-10 min before crashing, this morning i cant even get to my hideout. 15+ try im lucky if i make it to the town!

Check your running PoE process in Task-Manager

is it PathOfExileSteam (32-bit) ? Your Windows 64-bit?

my crashes gone, 10 maps with all ritual/delirium. no crash, no lag, no freeze

change PoE to 64bit version (start it over steam Poe Folder)

reinstalled steam, because PoE process was still 32 bit, even with the x64 exe

Ryzen 1700
GeForce 1080

hope it helps someone
Some acknowledgement from GGG staff about these constant crashes would be greatly appreciated.....
ive been crashing since yesterday, but wierd thing is Path of building and Poe crash at the same time.
i7-10700k
rtx 2080
16gb 3600 ram
seems GGG doesn't care about this issue?
I had this proble too and i was able to circumvent by disabling SMT for PathofExile via Process Lasso.

Without Process Lasso the game just closed after starting and loading into Oriath not even letting me get into the Hideout.

What's the point of reinstalling steam?
