Yeah so I just got one-shot in hardcore. 7.5khp, 60% Phys reduction. I got teleported to the middle of the map, shield charged out, then a meteor from literally nowhere fell on my head. was on my screen for maybe .5 second and I was dead.

After asking around apparently if you stand on the boss he doesn't do the meteor attack. Feels really fucking bad man, as far as I could tell there was zero indication that anything was gonna happen. I was tempted to log out when I got teleported (and was slowed) in the middle of the map because I had no idea what was happening. Wish I did.

Trash boss.. the inescapable homing one shot ball isn't too much fun. 0 signalling either.. just a big ball that autoaims and oneshots. Terrible design!
Even with telegraphing sometimes the map can roll mods that make it require a well timed dash to avoid, some builds don't use this movement tech. Also I got killed once because a maven clone was spamming the rock offscreen. The telegraph for the rock toss kind of looks like the move he uses for the swamp earth tentacles too, so it can mixup.
I had to deal with this recently, my strat was to just zoom around with a teleport skill, never stop moving.

That seems to be the best strat nowadays as about anything can oneshot you. Rather never get hit at all. I find myself moving erratically all the time just in case.

There is no indication at all that it's going to strike or where. You know, no "big red circle" orso.

The arena is multiple screens large so unless you're standing in the middle and paying very good attention it's very easy to miss.

The rock itself is dark/brown and so is the background, which makes it harder to see.

Not to mention the clusterfook of effects in PoE hides it even more.

About the 'where' part: Far as I know character position is the indication. Its one of those skills that are inherently imba and that is (*) partially mitigated by it being overly predictable in that it always targets the player and never anything else. Also means if you are always moving around (fast enough, but not ultra fast) it will never hit you.

(*) IMO nonsensically - why is the boss so stupid to make the rock strike location predictable? It makes no sense...
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!
