My game went from unplayable ,constant freezes/stutter, to run smoothly.
It seems like it even started to use my GPU.

Specs:
i7700
gtx 1660
8gb ram ddr4
HDD WB 1TB
w10

So fucking weird tbh. this actually fixed alot of problems for me aswell, and i for the life of me dont get why it even would... something must be seriously wrong with the 64bit client

what the actual F, it realy works. all shuttering gone it still somehow shows as x64 in processes menu but launching from the 'PathOfExileSteam.exe' works.

Your solution works, but I tried with launching PathOfExile_x64Steam.exe as admin instead of PathOfExileSteam.exe, and it worked aswell ! Same performance !

So for me : it seems like I only get FPS drops when I launch the game via Steam, I don't have any problems when I launch the game directly with the .exe, whatever it's PathOfExile_x64Steam.exe or PathOfExileSteam.exe.

Can you try aswell @Visuftw ?

EDIT : I think I'll play with the Standalone version for now on, and not the Steam one. Tried Vulkan and it's even better for me.

I'm playing on standalone poe version(non-steam), I've tried all stuff with x32/x64 client's but nothing changed. Waiting for some fixes from GGG

I'm playing standalone and got this issues since 2019.
Now I checked my setup with SSDs only and noticed that I played all the time the x32 version.
Changed to x64 and voilà no more ping spikes.

EDIT: Worked for an hour and now again bad performance... dooohhh
