Toxic Vines disabling Attack Movement skills is a bad mechanic
Yes. Absolutely.

I wouldn't worry too much. The disabled movement mechanic is very likely to be removed.
Someone just had a derp moment and didn't think about the impossible to avoid one-shot layering conditions it creates like the Chasing Fireball Bloodline effect which will one-shot you on juiced maps. - Porcupines - Corpse Explosion - Mana Drain from Baran tiles There's just too many situations it creates that are completely unfair to the player. I'm still curious why GGG decided to troll us by putting Vaal Temple in the normal Map rotation where normally it's a drop, Zana or Corrupt result only. Those three have always been way over tuned. I agree, outright disabling specific skills feels really bad, and completely breaks specific builds.

I'd just upvote this if I could, but here's a reply to get a few more eyes on it. Add in a volatile flameblood or two and you have a combination that kills players while refusing them access to the tools you've made mandatory by creating the flameblood orb. It's both "you can't dodge" and "you must dodge" at the same time.

/signed as the most derpy moment in poe history. not sure who thought this was a good idea, but the entire design team collectively needs a slap for allowing this change to go live lol.
I don't even know how it hasn't been patched out & only further strengthens my belief that devs do not play the games they build, cause no one that plays this game for more than 5 minutes would think this was a good idea. |

My favorite is when it's toxic vine ritual and then an vine ensnare nemesis mod enemy is somewhere nearby, either through the ritual spawn or outside of the ritual area, and THEN volatile flameblood or that absolutely horrific bullshit shocking ghost guys suddenly show up.
You just...can't do anything other than log or hope to everything in existence you somehow survive all of this bullshit. Hell even without toxic vine ritual, the vine ensnare during a ritual is actually making me hate that enemy mod the most out of all of them. Also, am I completely crazy or has the frequency of vine ensnare modifier on enemies spiked this league? I ~NEVER~ saw that modifier on enemies in Legion, which was the last time I played, and now it's as if it's in every single ritual, no matter what the ritual type is. Small area ritual that is in a corner and vine ensare, just...stop doing this to me, to players. Thankfully I don't see toxic vine ritual all that often but I don't activate it much when I do see it, it's genuinely not worth the risk even in softcore. It's almost always a guarantee exp loss unless your build and your gear is built to basically negate it. GGG gives me Diablo 2 Teleport? I give them 50 bucks. No questions asked.
