Trinity support isn't as narrow as you think...

Trinity is super easy to put into any build.

Just flame dash past an enemy and then use a non fire skill and you keep the buff up.

That's how GGG wants you to use it i.e. with skill rotations. Not how many players seem to want to play i.e. without pressing a bunch of different buttons.

It's only one other button sure, but remember that there's a whole bunch of other buffs and tools in the game that also don't automate well. I cri errytime about the old Enduring Cry change... :(

Would a triggercrafted sceptre set with its characteristic order of triggered effects, allow you to stagger the "odd man out" damage and not add extra buttons? Case in point, having armageddon brand and OoS applied in turns to mobs on your cursor, and then tossing gc mines there and cleaning up with the mini EE trinity effect linked to GC mines?

SS or constructed wand burst damage on trinity seems like the preferred way to go IMO

it doesn't work with triggered skills or brands or totems or spells that reserve mana...

At the same time though. Trinity + Elemental Overload alone were tripling my DPS at max buff value. While leveling I was going from 5k to 15k dps. I won't pretend to understand exactly why but that's what was going on. This league I had the quickest act boss killing ever for me personally using this combo and the packs were melting

Swapping Trinity in place of IncAoE in BBBF build. Have Cold and Lightning on some items and when melting packs can keep those 2 maxed almost permanently. Any way to tell if it is providing any increased damage with just those 2 elements gaining resonance? As mentioned elsewhere it is not in PoB yet nor is it in POE Planner.
From what I’ve read, it’s great with any skill that does comparable damage with 2+ elements. As long as the highest damage cycles between two or more elements often enough (they don’t need to be exactly even), you’ll usually have max resonance (especially against packs and when hitting quickly, like a barrage effect).

Question: while Doomfletch Prism rolls extra phys as elemental effects separately, which means highest damage will cycle between elements, how do the mechanics work for other sources of extra phys as x, or plain conversion? Will converting phys damage evenly to two elements result in two damage rolls, or will the damage always be evenly split between both elements (rendering Trinity useless)?

I like interesting support gems like Trinity, which promote somewhat niche setups, and I’m glad it was added. I only wish the description could be simpler somehow, but the fact is it’s a mechanically complicated gem.
We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

Divergent Trinity has the quality bonus "Supported Skills convert (0–10)% of Physical Damage to a random Element". This allows skills like Wave of Conviction to also support themselves with Resonance i.e. maintain max resonance without having to use another skill. Cos sometimes the fire portion will predominate, other times lightning, which will net you all 3 elemental resonances.
