Been using it on my Bleed Glad with Bladestorm. Got my hands on it for 7c on day 1 (others had it listed for 25, feel like I got a good deal). The downside (reserved mana) isn't that noticeable when blasting through maps, but I usually turn off the aura and switch to blood stance for single target deeps. That extra 1K life is kinda needed if I don't wanna get one shot by bosses.

EDIT: One downside though, in my leap slam set up I use blood magic, which increases the mana reserved by Thirst for Blood from 10% to 20%, which is dumb since blood magic isn't supporting the aura. I remedied this by swapping the setup into a different slot. Just something worth mentioning.

EDIT 2: stats were a little low. The ones with 150% phys are relatively expensive (1ex or more right now). used a grand total of 2 divines:

Not terrible!

Loving the updated axe so far - the tease with +DoT for bleeding made me want to build a bleed gladiator with this axe, but the Thirst for Blood skill makes it amazing since I'm using Aegis for ES recovery on block and don't need to leech or have high regen to maintain life.

I'm sad that the voicelines don't always get a chat output, but then again this adds to the feeling of insanity.
Is this tagged as a 'spell'? Could you use this with Gruthkul's Pelt?
can you put enlighten in the axes sockets and take aura nodes to reduce the 10% reserve?

blood magic gem will be supporting that aura if its socketed in the axe btw, skills granted by items like that are effected by any viable supports in the item. so im presuming the opposite works in terms of enlighten lowering its reserve.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

After I dropped blood magic the 10% reservation is barely noticeable. Not sure if enlighten is worth unless I have a couple more auras in that slot.
Hmmm my Lacerate Bleed Gladiator has 175% chance to bleed and Resolute Technique. Testing the axe for the first time in BA (lvl 65 atm).

I get the proc only sometimes. I do not understand this. Everything dies from my bleeds. Yet I get the axe proc only very rarely.

Need to test it a bit more.

Oh maybe it is because I was using Second Wind in my axe setup?! It increased the cost to 12% too.

Ok seems like was killing to quickly. When I remove all my damage support gems I see the regen. The aura being affect by Second Wind is wierd though.

Enlighten does not work with item-innate skills like Thirst for Blood. Only skills specifically granted by linked gems.

Aura nodes in the tree specifically reduce mana reservation, not life reservation. Because Thirst For Blood presumably is not mana-converted-to-life, like Blood Magic auras, they will not affect it. I presume, anyways. It's worth testing.

The regeneration trait is, sadly, deceptively bad. Very good when it works, but a high-end build will instaboom most packs and only have living, bleeding enemies to draw life from against single large hard-hitting targets. The exception may be Maven multi-boss fights where you can apply bleeds to numerous map bosses, but at that point even two thousand life regeneration a second may not be preferable to reserving off a tenth of one's life.

Still, I rather like this rework. It presents options, and options are a great thing to have. It feels like this Thirst For Blood skill does a better job of capturing the spirit of ol' Jack, trading away your own vitality for boosted power. Not bad.
