[3.12] Dejuvenate's Best Starter Build for Chieftain/Trickster bar none - Unethical FlameSlinger

i tried the chieftain-version and i like it, i use power siphon with chain and faster attack and Ignite Proliferation Support to trigger your skill combination for the flame wall (spellslinger).

my defense is bad, there is the most open work.

...i havent read the skill descrition complete :-) it is not a bug it is a feature...



Ignite Proliferation Support does not transport flame wall ignite... :-(

actually trying this a bit and it is pretty insane.

i have a trickster base build that i like rolling into a few ways of play, and to level this way would easily be the fastest, i'd just have to tinker around with the tree from normal planned breakpoints.

leveling, the clear is nutso, but the single target damage not so much. its tolerable, i guess, and you can get through, but its pretty rough in comparison. and thats with EE, EO, wave of convic and combustion all proc'd.

PS, conc effect doesn't work for flamewalls secondary damage effect. PoB is wrong when it says it adds damage. it does not. do not use conc effect its useless


my build essentially rushes MoM and agnostic and is extremely defensive through leveling. spellslinger does cut the mana pool by a bunch but its still defensive and good, very easily able to run HC and even SSFHC with no threat of deaths (i still get deaths cause i afk all the time). i only run it on a 4l even tho i've found a tabula, or else it cuts the mana too much. right now its sitting at 42%. flamewall, spellslinger, ele focus, burning dmg

for comparison sakes my current guy is lvl 65 at the start of a10 with 2,483 hp and 1,108 available mana. my current unbuffed tooltip on flamewall is 15,443 and with available buffs active PoB states the dmg is 47,903.

one thing i've noticed is a bit of a hindrance is accuracy. you can socket additional accuracy but another thing you could do for early maps is, once you get cassia a couple times, is anoint Weathered Hunter. gives +100 accuracy, 15% accuracy rating, +10% all ele res, and +20 dex for just a sepia,amber,teal oil. very cheap for those stats.

again im tinkering around with the leveling tree for my build but i imagine this setup could easily take me to lvl 80 before swapping to my fully planned build.
should be a great early map farmer for currency and levels.

could be an incredible SSFHC farming build as well

Thanks for your insight. I got a feeling conc effect was not doing what it was supposed to be doing as I felt my clear speed actually dropped when I socketed conc effect.

As for deliverer, another thing I really like about KB is the redundancy. You don't care how much it hits, just that it actually hits an enemy. The explosion overlap kinda achieve that without having to reach 100% accuracy.

The explosions kinda help with that. That's why, even with ludicrous mana cost and it needing so many links to feel good, I believe KB is still a much better deliverer than PS.

I posted my old POB just to get it out there. Around 800k dps. While this doesn't look like much, remember that you apply this basically to everything within 1-2 screen of you via KB that chains and explodes everywhere.

Not sure how much higher you can push it. I myself felt the struggle at around t14 or so. But by that time you should have made enough to fund a real character. Unless we figure out a way to scale this even further.

best way to scale flamewall damage is by fire damage over time multiplier. i mean you could add more links but it would make it reserve all mana, which would be worth overall for the clear speed.

but overall low life and clusters are the biggest boosters to FW dmg by a mile.
but 800k dps isn't terrible in the slightest for a DoT build and clear. most CA builds don't do much over 1-1.5 mil.

if you got to a place where you're sitting with 2m dps-ish then you could easily make a full build out of this. otherwise i think it does a fine roll in just steamrolling content as a start so you can gather xp/currency for whatever comes next

I will see if I cant pump out a (semi) min maxed version if people like it. Just throwing this out and see if there's an interest for a min-maxed version.

Pretty sure 2 mill dot slinger is very achievable with realistic gear.

What can you say about Winter orb or Freezing pulse as a deliverer spells?

Their spread is nowhere near competitive. Worb is kinda focused on a small area, which might be behind you, missing your flamewall.

Freezing pulse has a range of 1 screen max, and has limited width.

Kinetic Blast / Power Siphon with chain will chain to 2 screens away from you.

Correct me if I'm wrong but we can't use ball lightning or freezing pulse with spellslinger, right? It requires wand attack skill like power siphon or kinetic blast.
Also why not use kinetic bolt? it can chain without the support gem.

You link ball lightning to spellslinger so it will cast automatically. If so. You can use frenzy to get 12% more dmg.

Kinetic bolt fires only 1 projectile that chains. You need to link gmp to that. Tbh I have never tried kinetic bolt extensively, but my finding still stands.

For lvling/less dense areas, power siphon is best as it has very low mana cost, many projectiles, and culls.

I swapped to KB when I started mapping and got good density.

I tried leveling this yesterday and its was painfully bad dmg early on.

Maybe I am missing something ?
