(Pro Players Opinion) Stale meta and why me and the other pros quit for now

Seeing how much the meta cater for the no-life supposed "pros", all I can say is...good riddance. Maybe now GGG will care for more casual players more and tone down the random oneshots.

The point is to let the regular people know where the elite players have all gone. We are taking a break because there's really nothing new in the meta.

I will give you a real pro example.

MrLlamaSC is a Diablo 2 pro. The last "meta" update was in August 13, 2005 Patch 1.11 , he still to this day makes videos about Diablo 2, earning a living from it which makes him a professional Diablo 2 player.

What drew derision was your completely unsupported claims of being a pro, and how grateful non-pros should be to you. Such an arrogant stance will naturally draw a scornful response from any community, internet or real life.

That's like saying a sportscaster for football is a professional football player. AFAIK MrLlama is an average gamer who is obsessed with playing the easiest style. AKA speedrunning. Just like in Starcraft, he's overall considered a failed gamer by actual pros like myself. Ask him yourself, if he was a low tier Masters cheese zerg who got his ass handed to him by top GM's in Starcraft. Because that's what I remember doing to your 'pro'.

I don't enjoy talking down about near-top gamers, but when you act like they are somebody then I have to step in. Sorry that you did that.

So - what makes you a professional? I know nothing about you, other than this thread here, and what you post on the forums. Why do you consider yourself a pro? What are your credentials?

Maybe try seeing my other comments or posts. I was one of the first S-tier players that played EverQuest, for starters. I was in the top 50 of the Diablo 3 leaderboards while only having time to play 2 hours a day, competing with people using bots and playing fulltime+ with only 2 hours. Even friends on my friends list were asking me strategies at the time. I had figured out a bleed + lifesteal strategy with monk that is thought to be the first honest solo Diablo clear on the entire server. And I did that without using the auction house, which makes it incredible.

As for PoE, well I honestly get bored of seasons early, but I'm typically in the top 10 of any race I've started, while playing far less than the 'pros' and streamers who abuse mechanics. Every race I do a made up build on the fly and somehow end up in the top 10. Funny how that works. So what did you say you did to be a pro?

Edit: Also, during my Wow days, I was the coleader and leader of a top tier guild, after only playing for 4 months compared to others who had played 4 years. I think you get the point.

And I need to recycle an old answer to a similar post:

"

Let's start a competition :) My entry:

I am the bestest around here, all you others are just average Joes with no genuine achievements to your names! I have invented sliced bread, the iPhone, sex toys, sunshine and unicorns!!1!

I'm especially proud of the unicorns, they are the best and nobody else could have have invented them. In fact, they are so good, nobody else could believe they'd be this good, but I made them happen! They are perfect! Only I can see them, which is by my incredibly clever design, because pros like me don't share their hard-won gains with just anyone. They make my hair and skin sparkle, which brings me endless joy and you plebs will never even see that because due to all my marvellous achievements I have to keep my identity a secret. Everyone has used sliced bread and all pros are using the sex toys I invented, so that is proof of how great I am! Also nobody can deny the usefulness of sunshine!

No one can compare and you lowly normos should be eternally grateful for my help. You owe me respect, instead of just posting hate and bragging about your inconsquential "achievements" in a game no pro plays!

Peace,
SisterKoppo
May your maps be bountiful, exile

Why don't you post on an account that has any race season rewards, then? I can't find any race points in your profile, at all...?

Nothing, I am a casual player of this game, but I also never claimed to be a pro. You did.

EDIT: I know this sounds like ad hominem attacks. But honestly... the attitude you display in this thread makes it really really hard to feel any sympathy for you. Sorry, but if you want to have a good conversation about actual problems with the game, you have to do your part, too. And all I've seen you do so far is claiming that you are a pro player and calling others:

At the same time, you say that the community should be the icing on the cake for a game. Bit ironic, don't you think? Maybe you are a "pro" gamer (not in the traditional sense of the word, but maybe in some sense of the word), I don't know and don't really care. But you are certainly not the creme-de-la-creme of the community, you'd have to work on yourself quite a bit to be that.

You literally admit first hand that you aren't even close to being a pro, yet you're attempting to pass judgment on one. So sick of these recent 3 generations of 'people' who sit on their asses, probably watch twitch streams and look at facebook all day, and then have the silliness to yell at a TV about what an athlete or a pro should be doing.

And when you take the animal out of their box, they crawl and scrape their way back in. That's the difference between someone whose actually done something to change the meta in a positive way, and someone who just probably rolls flasks or ammys 200 hours hoping to get lucky to actually beat someone like me on the boards.
is this a troll post lol
If you have to tell people you're a pro, you aren't? I play the game 10x more than your profile suggests you do, and I'm pretty casual.

Also chill out with the gatekeeping my dude. Speedruns are the easiest way to play a game? Really? Haha wow.

If you actually played this league, you would know how much the meta has shifted, there are multiple viable farming strategies. You can make nearly 10ex/hour running guardians, getting fragments, killing maven's and selling orb's. You could run haewark and sell harvest crafts. Valdo's harbys. Fractured delirium maps. Simulacrums. Grand Heists.

Thanks to harvest, build diversity is at an all time high. Just look at the ladder breakdown and compare it for the last couple of leagues. For once the top ascendancy is less than 15%. Seems pretty good.

What would you do to improve the meta?
