Exalted Orb price on Default Core

All dem high end players are storing these orbs in their stash and causing a serious increase in price for Exalted orb. I dont blame them for doing so but lately prices are getting out of hand. I wouldnt be surprised if they reach 30 chaos for 1 exalted in the next 2 months.

I think there should be a vendor receipt to avoid that, like for 20 chaos = 1 exalted.
What do you guys think?

Just hold on tight and wait for the ride to be over.

There is no true reason as to why the price of exalteds for chaos has become so out of whack. It just stems from people being worried about inflated prices, which is causing a snowball effect. People keep seeing chaos > exalted rates going up, which causes them to panic and try to get as much as they can before their orbs are worthless. With everyone doing this the price just keeps going up and up.

Eventually it will settle-- that is how economies work. Just hold on tight and wait for everything to blow over.
Adding vendor recipes for the rest (or even just exalt orbs) of the currency would be the equivalent of an in game 'shop' and as far as I am aware (a post a few days ago) GGG is against this so what I think is irrelevant but...

I play mostly solo and the vendor recipes are already steep IMHO (which is good) and I can't tell you how many times I wished I could exchange for a higher tier orb just for crafting my own gear. I haven't felt a need to buy gear from other players (perhaps I've just been lucky) even after 14 characters (4 farm maps) but I can understand how adding this would have a profound impact on the economy. While it doesn't affect me, it is still very important to the health of the game.

Not to mention that the lack of vendor recipes encourages player interaction - adding more recipes will not 'fix' the 'problems' that cause fluctuations in the value of currency (IMO). You've seen already how even when there is a 'standard' (vendor recipe) - the true value is set by the players.
This is what's called an economic bubble.
Luckily, when a bubble pops in a virtual economy people don't lose their jobs and homes like when it happens in real life (eg. 2008 housing bubble collapse).

High end players.....

Hoarding orbs......

This is impossible.
They're not hoarding them, they're just exalting all their rares in hopes of getting thorns mods.
Default Core? O_o
This is one of the big reason i've started playing HC in D2 and kept with it over the years, Softcore economy tends to be really fucked up and finding a really good item just to find out its worth jack was realling pissing me off.

Never had that problem in HC, everything can be valuable to some extent there, even low level items.

1 exalt = 50 fusing or 40 chaos
The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG

That thread suggested ggg to SELL exalts with real money. This is not the same as adding an ingame recipe.
