Farming question/results...(uniques)
Merveil is one of my favorite places to farm.
With decent iiq/iir you can get her to spew about a backpacks worth of yellows every run. Sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on what you have sacrificed to the RNG gods recently. On a side note, her daughter dropped two uniques at once on me the other day while doing runs with a friend, nothing good though. HAIL SATAN!

ok so at 46%IIQ and 332%IIR low life build at normal merveil for 1 hour:
so this might be just a really good run(3unique:1hour), or i might be due for a dry spell. i will post results once i have another total 40 hours of farming in a couple weeks. feel free to post your results here as well. i will also update if any good uniques are found by restricting the number of obtainable uniques by farming normal mode. the theory is that there are only 47 obtainable uniques in normal merveil versus the 82 available uniques in cruel mode. by restricting the number of uniques that drop to 47 there is hopefully a higher chance at obtaining one of the 6 or so more valuable uniques that can drop there. although there are 16 or so good ones in the cruel range. so looking at the stats its either 47:6 or 82:16(41:8). looking at the stats above it seems like cruel would have the better 'good' unique selection, however i am able to run with 100%more IIR in normal mode so is till want to see what i get after 40 hours of farming. Why do you farm lower difficulties for awful uniques? (Serious question). What am I missing?

" see above post. im not farming for the shitty uniques. im trying to get the andivarius, or magnate or meginords or dream fragments etc... although the shitty uniques still sell for 1 alch to 1 chaos each so its not a total waste of time. in addition there is the alteration orb farming aspect. selling all the rares after identifying them will net you a ton of alterations. i hope that answered your question "They... Eats... The Mens..."

" I mean I guess it answers it , but why not farm maps for high level uniques and base items that sell for 10, 20 or 30+ exalteds? |

" It's all about efficiency. You can mow down thousands of mobs with very little risk - do it while really not paying attention. While it is still profitable to do this, it is nowhere near profitable as when the chaos/regal recipe was not nerfed. Not to mention it is harder, less efficient, and actually costs currency to run maps where you can get some of the best stuff that you can sell for 10+ exalts. I've farmed merveil/brutus on normal and cruel more than I can count. One thing I've noticed with the IIQ and IIR is that ~100 IIQ and ~200 IIR seems to be some sort of threshold. Meaning that ~300 IIR does not seems to have as great as an effect as 200 IIR (there is no difference). I wish I kept statistics on all this stuff, but alas, I never did. However, I've tested so many different combos of IIQ/IIR that I can stand firm to my statement that ~100 IIQ and ~200 IIR is one of the best, if not the best, balance of IIQ/IIR farming tactics. My current farm setup is 118 IIQ and 240-280 IIR depending on if I'm swapping to Reaper's Pursuit (which I was testing, but isn't necessary as all). I digress back on the topic of uniques. You can get astramentis and andvarius uniques, but they are super rare in comparison to say the Araku Tiki amulet. I got almost a near perfect andvarius ring off brutus in normal mode, but then again I have not seen many of the other rings/amulets and tons of others. I'd suggest, as some others have suggested, to farm cruel merveil/brutus instead of normal. If your character can handle it, farm city of sarn or greater so you can still vendor for the chaos recipe. " well as it stands i dont have a character that is able to wear the amount of IIQ+IIR gear needed to gain these higher level uniques while still being able to clear maps. here is the ratio of uniques available in maps as well:: 40:125 so almost a 33% chance that if a unique does drop in a map, it will be able to be sold for more than a few gcp. which is where people who can, should farm although i dont know how higher level unique drops are affected by iiq+iir. as i stated in my original post, i had heard that more desirable uniques will drop at lower rates than less desirable ones. meaning the number above is skewed toward a lesser chance to find those higher uniqes.
