Easier? People aren't looking to make the game easier. Maybe you are, and would pay a lot to make the game easier?

People/players have "always" played dress-up in games. Hell, there are hundreds of games out there focusing only on dress-up. A lot of players care A LOT about how their characters look in games, and spend hours upon hours in character creation screens. This clearly translate to hideouts too.

GGG aren't convincing anyone. They are just giving (some) players what they want, and milking the idea for what it's worth. I hope you don't think PoE/GGG could've made it this far by only selling stash tabs? They knew the market. They knew the urges. Players don't need convincing, they just need to be willing to pay for what they want.

Yes, the prices are ridiculous. But as long as people are buying, then who are we to judge? Let people spend their money how they deem fit, it's a (semi-)free world.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Narcissistic behavior is a mental disorder where one puts his own sense of importance above others. Check.

Disorder? I'd say it's a pre-requisite.
From the same clip.

That ratio has to be a new record ;)

Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks
Got to admit though that it's a pretty stupid idea... like selling blank canvas at a rate that's comparable to a finished painting.
That is the only problem of GGG imo. They can do super cool stuff BUT they refuse to put even 50% effort to make the game amazing. :(

Good quality stuff would make more people open their wallets while such copy-paste or semi-finished stuff will not or would satisfy only addicts.
I think they could think about making multi-colours/multi-skins mtxs where player can buy the original and "upgrade" to another colour using great discount or buy each cheaper to be able to buy more than 1-2.
Slow down for a minute to enjoy the beauty around us.

The blank canvas aspect isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Some people are really into hideout customization after all, so there is demand for empty hideouts. The stupid part is that many of these new hideouts are just the textures for existing floor decorations from masters that have been copy-pasted and offered up for $15. I don’t blame GGG for trying to milk what they can out of people, but this is an awfully low effort attempt to do just that. Congrats to them if it works out.

Someone on Reddit has already posted a guide on how to make exact copies of 4-5 of them using the Nebula Hideout though, which most of the people who are really into this kind of thing likely already own.

A flat plane with non-seamless tiled texture and... people actually pay for this? It's... desirable enough to warrant paying real money for?

I could understand if, for instance, it had a "snowfall" effect and anything placed in it had a dynamically applied material to make it look like snow had landed on it or something. If it changed-up and there was an occasional blizzard? That might be neat.

But, that's how you'd you create something like this if you wanted to actually give your customers value-added purchase opportunities.

This just makes the RMT "look bad."

"Wow, that's cool! I can have a neato "dungeon-like" house in PoE!
But, look here! They're selling this "flat plane with crappy graphics" for $14.50! The entire store must be filled with such rip-offs and I shouldn't dare buy anything they're selling!"

^-- This happens in real life.

Then again, I guess people who'd be willing to buy something like that are going to have bought enough junk already...

But MTX aren't supposed to make playing the game easier though?
The only thing that accomplishes that are stash tabs. They're really useful.
Other MTX are just cosmetics.
Yikes. You can literally see the repeating tiles.
