As for nerfing the sulphite farming, what you actually mean is they fixed the exploits that people were using to obtain massive amounts of it with virtually no effort?
All they did was lower the amounts you got in Quarry. But you left out the fact that they boosted the amount you get from maps and scarabs.


Is it really that hard to delve now and get sulphite? I think the people that went to 20k depth last league have something to say about that.
And isn't there someone at or approaching 10k right now?

True... but Alva is a map source a SSF player really can't ignore.

Starved of sulphite, Ploppy100 discovered a new fuel source for the cart.

"As I sat on the loo, I realized it is all the same, chemically speaking," he said. "It also tends to keep the monsters at a distance, once you get it going," he added.

To demonstrate, he brought out a large glass jug, tightly stoppered with a screw valve. It looked empty at first, but held up in the light, you could definitely see a faint luminescent greenish fog.

"One whiff of this, and Niko'd be pushing up daisies. But no worries, it's hermetically sealed. Just hook it up like so" - frantic fiddling with hoses, caps, and stopcocks - "and the cart is as good as full."

Ploppy100 flipped the ignition, and the cart indeed rumbled to life. He hopped in, and we set off towards a nearby azurite node. Azure monkeys jeered and pelted us with feces from the sidelines, but the cart continued on at a merry clip.

After we cleared the chucklenuts off the node, bagged up the azurite, and left, Ploppy declared a lunch break.

"Food for the machine...in a manner of speaking," he said, unpacking a lunch pail well-stocked with cabbage rolls, pickled eggs, smoked kippers, and beer.

"You may think of it as a bad case of gas, but what you're looking at here is at least a double rota of t16 canyons. At least 100 quant rolled up in these tasty dainties," he added, pausing to belch.

"Does it ever backfire?" I asked. "I mean, like does the engine get fouled as a result of the fuel's natural impurities?"

"Oh not to worry. SOmetimes I like to just open all the valves and let 'er rip. This one time a turong dropped onto the cart from above and was about to eat me but I unhooked the intake hose and let him have it straight in the face. He was twitching for hours"

You aren't even in maps yet....be quiet.

the higher level the zone, the more sulphite you will get.

when you find niko during the story, you get maybe 120 sulphite TOTAL from 3 nodes. when you find him in a white map, youll easily get 400 total.

yellow maps will give you 1000+, and good quant red maps can give 4000+

in short, dont worry about not seeing him while you're doing the story. the nodes dont give enough to even care about until maps.

If you want to delve you have to get to maps or you get no Sulphite
Do you have a single clue how that mechanic works?
I'll assume not or you wouldn't have said what you did....
