I am sick and tired of coming in here every season to complain about your abysmal RNG infested map drop rate. Are you bloody kidding me mate?
Does that lvl 81 map indicate something different to you than it does to us? Does it mean Tier 4 instead of 14? ![]() Do you see something wrong with the only 2 maps the region dropped? Does this look normal to you? ![]() Does this? ![]() FIX YOUR BLOODY DROP RATE! I have even done spreadsheets to show how ABYSMAL and broken your system is in the past with full lvl 8 awakened map and getting ZERO DROPS AT BUFFED MAPS and 5 SOCKET MAP DEVICE. I have proved over and over how your RNG has bent me over for seasons now and every time makes me buy T16 maps to only convert them into T14 eventually because of how sad the drop rate is. I have done extensive runs. I have done the math. I have shared the data already. I AM NOT GOING TO GO THROUGH THIS AGAIN. FIX THE DROP RATES. I done another rare 20% map yesterday with 4 sextants and rusted cartographer x2 frags and I GOT ZEROOOOOOOO MAAAPS. ZEEEEEROOOOOOOOOO. NOT A SINGLE MAAAAAAAAP! ZERRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FARM A 4 WATCHSTONE LEX EJORIS 3 DAYS NOW. FIX.... YOUR.... DROP... RATES! PERIOD! Ive tried no watchstones but the area I want. Ive run higher tiers in regions with lower stones AND the same. I tried scaling the watchstones like "steps". 3 watchstones everywhere (as possible, some regions on zero) 4 in 2 regions and 3 the rest scale to 2 and 1. Ive done every bloody combo the game can allow. DROP THE MAPS ALREADY! You're welcome, hope to be doing business with again soon... (Disclaimer, to the apologists, don't bother annoying me. I've been through this before with you. No its not my idea. Yes I have done spreadsheets and noted down runs, qualities, etc, and drops and tiers, yes I do buff my maps, i even know how much it costs me on avg for every map buff. Yes I've been playing for years. Yes I know the game. No I am not new. Yes I know there are luck runs -I have my own brother getting maps drop on him like its raining while Im doing runs and getting slaps to the face. Yes, we've been through aaaaall this before. Don't bother. If the RNG can create this situation again and again on me, then its broken. Plain and simple. Fix it! Im not going to sit here and waste my already crap currency from crap rng and crap items that sell nothing on buying maps while other people are making exalts like its Halloween candy. FIX THIS!) I get the feeling Heist contracts and blueprints are butting into the map drops. If they are, then there needs to be more maps dropping in them. Either that or they shouldn't be in the map drop pool at all.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

Its a struggle, particularly with poor RNG, but always doable. I had issues this league pushing into the 3 watchstone and 4 watchstone regions, but got there eventually. I had similar issues last league, going down from T14+ maps at A5-6 all the way down to T12.
My only advice would be to engage in as much content as you can, odd drops from temple, delve and metamorph does help out a lot at this stage. Huge oversight it's worse than synthesis map drops.
Doing t15-16 I get downgrades. But I suspect they will ninja fix this and will not be mentioned at all. "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."

I think I found the issue.
My map drops were abysmal while conquerors spawned on different sides of atlas and 4watchstoned regions were not connected. After I relocated stones to the center and filled it, drop came back.. Or they fixed it just today. Who knows. But there is another issue now: I cannot now do outer sides.. cus I need to move stones then and then map drop stopping to exists again. In separated from each other filled regions. |

If this is true, and I have no reason to believe that it isn't on account of the fact nobody's complained about map sustain issues since the Atlas rework in 3.10 (speaking as someone with experience of shitty map sustain before that), then my point stands. " I don’t understand why this is taken to be some conspiracy theory when there’s at least some evidence to suggest it’s the case. If it is, and it’s intended, we need some communication from GGG about their reasoning. It’s good that the system requires investment in order to sustain maps. It provides a currency sink and a set of goals for powerful players, plus it sets up a different kind of gameplay than mindlessly running the highest difficulty content with no sense that content has value or scarcity. However, if the required investment is too high, the system breaks down and simply becomes prohibitive to actually play. We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

The atlas "rework" made people that never reach maps what? Exactly never reach maps, the changes were made for people clearing the content and actually reaching red maps.
While I understand it was made to slow people down with more grind (more maps to spawn a conqueror) and more maps to spawn sirus I think while progression is a thing on every single new league it shouldnt be halted by RNG or bugs like this, I'm a bit confused as why there was no mention of it yet until now.. there were people making threads regarding this before and it was kinda being dismissed by the usuall suspects. One of the most annoying things in this game is that you're gated by RNG on systems like this not because your lack of grinding but RNG.. the wording "just keep mapping(grinding) until it drops" seems to be the moto for all of Tggg systems on endgame or league wise. Go check how many contracts you have, and tell me whether you really think that you would have got that many more map drops. Also - map drops were 'indirectly' nerfed following the loot fiesta from Delirium and Metamorph. The issues I am having now, are the same as I had during Harvest. From what I gather, the Where does that leave us? I do not think that map drops are bugged, I think that they are exactly the same as last league. I also think that drop rates should improve just a bit. or at least map drops from other content (delve, temple, etc.) should reliably and consistently drop maps at the appropriate tier based on area level. " This is also an important point. During harvest, I was using sextants, sac fragments, chisels, alch and vaal orbs and was unable to sustain T14+ maps with ~110 completion at A5-A6. I havent done enough maps this league to really say if its bad or not.. but last league i had zero issue sustaining maps, even without super juicing.
Now, i could go on a rant explaining to you that "fixing" RNG doesnt mean anything, unless you mean that instead of fixing RNG, they should get rid of it. You getting shitty map drops is very possible for RNG. same as how i usually only get 1 to 3 full exalt drops even when i play a whole lot. You call it broken RNG,but it could just be RNG. now i am not an apologists, because i feel you are quite right about your assessment. If RNG means some (or maybe a lot?) players can not sustain even when beefing up the maps, it really hurts the feeling of progression. But how do we fix it. Say you get enough maps to sustain, but now, the one map you want doesnt drop. This post will be back up and running by someone who doesnt like that. I am not sure there is a decent way to do it in the current system. If maps are super easy to get, and they drop a ton, your map pool will only ever be increasing. Trading becomes pointless because everyone will easily progress. You'd almost have to get rid of the entire map system, or atleast the way to unlock them. Im not sure if you've thought about a good way to fix it, because i dont think just increasing droprates is a healthy way to fix it. and well.. RNG would still apply edit: would just like to add... I rarely if ever have issues sustaining and i have played a fair number of league. I rarely did much else than alching maps, even into red maps, and still could sustain atleast red maps, would sometimes run out of the highest tier ones though. But i guess thats the point of the post..
