Iron Mass damage feels way off

So Added Chaos has benefited the build a lot, I bought an expensive fully leveled Awakened Added Chaos. I'm close to buying Aul's Uprising, I was eyeing that item for a while. Now I can clear T16 maps fine, but I still think for the level of investment I made a regular Skeleton build would be way better both offensively and defensively. If this is the actual true Iron Mass damage, I'm not at all impressed I must say.

"
Last also - i'm not so sure about replica chest unless you can get high tier double added dmg (phys and chaos) on all of your jewels. But then you will have no life on them... So i can't say that it's 100% better.

I think it's fine, you get a good amount of Life and more affixes like Minion Damage % and Minion Movementspeed. Since a 6L with Hypothermia, which is close to ideal, is easy to make in my helmet slot, I don't see why I wouldn't pick up the chest. If I wanted to mix the build with Spectres/Zombies I'd definitely pick a regular chest, but I was trying to push the Skeletons as much as possible and neglect all other minions.

EDIT: Got Aul's, damage is slightly better but not by much. There are still several places I could improve my gear in, mostly expensive jewels, but I'm not sure I'm still willing to go there. Probably get Awakened Gems and then call it a day. I just don't think it's a very good build overall. I don't think there are any advantages to be gained by using Iron Mass over regular Skeletons - it just looks cool.

Overall i would say that regular skeletons with full cold dmg (4 green slots) would be better. Even more so since you can go for archers with non iron mass build. Archers should add more clear speed imho (not tested by me, but i guess there should be some info on it). Full cold dmg because of generosity + hatred.

I haven't thought about it before but +1 skeleton amulet can be better for single target by a bit. Only for single target tho, cause you don't get max amount of skeletons while maping.

Just started an Iron Mass build, I'm 72 now, using carrion golem + raise zombie in a pseudo 6l helmet (with feeding frenzy and maim), vaal skelly in a 6l queen's hunger (minion speed, minion dmg, multistrike, melee splash, melee phys). Using Whakatutuki for extra buff effects, leash of oblation for offerings (the necro offering point is bad, don't use it). Got 3 golems(anima stone + tree), chaos and stone gives great sustain. In the sword I'm using vigilant strike and leap slam with faster attacks. Also holy relic with increased aoe. And of course, use minion life on the permanent summons.

All I'm doin is leaping through maps, in every 10-20 seconds hit with vigilant strike (it gives fortify to me and all of the summons for 30+ sec because of the vigil jewel), and drop the skellies. Breach, boss and blight areas are designed for this build, just drop the vaal skellies!

Tier 10-12 maps are easy, blightfarming is easy. I don't think full chaos conversion and tryharding with withered touch is worth it, also without melee splash the clear is much worse.

About buffs: clarity, precision lvl1 (for Commander of Darkness), maxing Vitality and Haste. War Banner is always a great thing (also count as aura, just don't drop the flag). Permafortify. With some skill effect duration investment in the tree, I can sustain bone, flesh and spirit offering (with 75% effect) simultaneously. Golems give regen and phys reduction, relic gives regen. Some pretty block chance from offering, on block me and my herd regens 5% max life, also life gain on block from offering.

About size of herd: 12 skeletons, 8 zombies, 3 golems and a relic.

TLDR: I think it will be great and it's not a poison build.
