does performance matter ?
they show time and time again that performance isnt their strong suit.
then they remove the option to take out shadows and post-processing... i wouldnt hold my breath for a well optimized poe.. upgrade to 10900k/3090/m.2 instead.. and even then i bet itll have dips ;) Last edited by teksuoPOE#2987 on Sep 28, 2020, 7:10:04 PM

" I get the same problem, and I don't think it's a regular connection issue as it only affects the one instance. If you leave that instance everything goes back to normal. Then if you go back to the affected instance the ping goes crazy again. If it started happening the moment you entered the affected instance, then it could be that for some reason the instance was created on a different server, but for me it usually happens when I've been in the instance for several minutes of normal play, then bam, it's unplayable. I've also experienced this problem for years, on different machines, and even in different countries. It does seem worse in the last six months or so though. |

Of course it matters. Now with that said...
People tend to ignore alot of what's going on with monsters because you're focused in staying alive. Monsters can do alot of damage per second and attacks per second too not counting that some monsters might be bugged and they spam attack skills constantly and you wont know every single attack that you don't or can't dodge is calculated on your defenses.. causing well you know. The most performance impact mod is "allies can't die" this mod can and will make your performance be worse if you don't kill the elite with the buff first the most common example is a necromancer with minions and engages into a fight on a pylon with the elite with said buff and 20-30 monsters around the elite the horde of minions go in and everything is on 1 hp but can't die and wont touch the elite, this will cause mass fps drops and you will watch your minions die unless of course you snipe the elite first predator support helps but not all builds use it and on the swarm of mobs while you're running around while your minions are dying I bet it's difficult to see. The problem for poe is always the amount of attacks per second and the calculations on every single attack. Another thing to keep track on is the details on spells sometimes you see squares when mobs are channeling their skills as well. "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."
Once you break the cycle of fear no angels or demons can whisper you their sweet nothing words. poe0.2/10. Nuff said. |
