POE 3.12 HEIST league is BAD
" If you dont level up during the hillock fight and dont level up until you hit your first cache - yes, it is literally mapping from level 1 because functionally maps and heists are exactly the same. The problem with saying heist is bad despite - for many people - being what theyve been begging about for years is that heist is, without fundamentally changing the game, exactly what those people want. Most people who malign heist 'hate it' and 'just want to get to maps faster' while pulling out arguments like 'but i can just ignore it!' as if non S P E E D M E T A B O I S havent been doing that for years already. Because heavens forbid a league mechanic give you the choice to interact with it or not. |

" Oookay there wall of e-peen. This isnt a measuring contest - just because youve spent 36 of the first 48 hours grinding from level 1 to 99 with your ultra efficient hyper build that scales infinitely and can run ten maps in two minutes doesnt mean that other people can, or even want to. I have a 200K DPS gladiator as my heist character - and hes slow by most standards GGG has two kinds of players: S P E E D M E T A B O I S and everyone else. Speed meta characters are like you - people who zoom as fast as possible through the content so you can get to some fantasized end game faster so you can get the next build sooner. For YEARS GGG has struggled with finding a happy medium between "this is for zoomers" and "this is for everyone else" - theyve tried making seperate leagues but some people always hate it... Heist is a mix of both. Youre rewarded for both being slow AND being fast, and its a good thing. Not to mention heist advances your game faster and in a much more fun way than regular maps do. Yes you have to wait a little, but this league ive gotten my first natural six link from a heist chest, ~80c from heists (not even grand heists), and im actually able to enjoy the league mechanic for once instead of chasing higher DPS so i can actually take down those hecking legion unique mobs and get the most out of breach/temples. ... I have to wonder, for people who malign heist, are they just hypocritical or yearn for the 'glory days' when the game was still run act 1-3 three times? |

" Yet again, talking rubbish. If you were to take a look at any of my builds you would know I'm anything but a S P E E D M E T A B O I S as you put it. You love the league, well whoopy do. Just allow for the fact that there are many many more, who enjoy playing off-meta builds, who don't....yet Every contract is the flippin' same. Its a handful of new tilesets, with effectively linear layout with the mother of all backtracking with incredibly frustrating, buggy NPCs. Once you start getting ilvl 83 contracts ... if you are playing off-meta builds (like mine) then you realise, the only way to play them, if you don't want to die repeatedly is to not get the curio box at the end, and just walkout with your loot.... how is that a good mechanic!??? Once you've run one you've run them all. There's zero variety. I want to like the league. There's so many things to like about it from a purely cosmetic standpoint, but the mechanic is still broken, buggy, and tiresome three weeks into the league. I suffered through the first month in Synthesis, and was glad I did because it ended up being my favourite league, and I really hope they can turn this around, I just don't have much faith that they will anymore. |

" They will not. As Blizzard decays over time, it's time for GGG to bite the dust. I agree , the league is linear ( not too fond of it but not against it either). The buggy NPC's is the WORST DAMN THING EVER. We are 2 weeks in, a lot of patches , fixes , hot fixes, fix to a fix, and GGG still cannot repair the damn that dude with the mental powers to STOP GETTING STUCK in walls , doors and not doing his job. I haven't run a level 83 contract but I will purchase one and try to do it :) to see the level of one shotness they made. I am really enjoying new leagues, never complained even though some mechanics were not on my liking. But this mess they call Heist, with bugs over bugs, performance issues, crashes over crashes, buggy npc's and skills is just too much. At this point I do not even know if my damage is scaled correctly in all this skill bugs and stuff. And frankly I just don't want to start running math scores and do GGG's job at this point. Never invite Vorana, Last To Fall at a beer party. Last edited by Vendetta#0327 on Oct 8, 2020, 1:37:57 AM

Yes it's bad. Not worse than Harvest, which was one of the worst league ever but this is not a good league by any means.

" Because GGG is not capable to manage more mobs at maps, they created these mini games outside maps so players have the illusion that POE is running great. Less clown MTX< more quality. |
|
" One way to boost performance in the game, and I do hope GGG is fully aware of this, is by reducing the number of environmental and static assets in a level/heist. At the moment, some levels/heists are excessive with assets like laboratory, yikes, and does nothing but clutter the screen and heavily degrade system performance. Another example of excessiveness is the entirety of Rogue Hideout - remove 80% of building assets like columns/walls, carpets, etc. and presto, you can revert back to multiplayer town hub and let everyone showcase their bling mtx (which means free advertising for you) where everyone gets 100% frames and zero performance degradation. GGG, contact me further details on how to reduce level assests, I'm a doer. |

" It's not about doing things again and again. Killing mobs, looting stuff ... is core of POE, but you can have more diversity while doing it. Anyone remembering the old vorici quests? Why dont have a protect NPC mission, or kill special guard xy, kill guard xy without killing another one, reach the vitrine in time or alarm gets risen, defend waves of enemies till door is open/timer runs out, dont kill anybody, open all chests... And why is it always backtracking. If I got a NPC that can break walls or make them explode. Give more options to exit the heists. Maybe even dont just steal things, rescue people, maybe even have a chance for your companions to be caught and you have to rescue them after. Why have 13 NPCs, if they dont really differ 5 with their own preset and an interesting storyline would've been enough. Maybe even play their story line. Make them from a rookie to a great thief, know them personally and have some kind of bonding. Maybe thats all asked too much, but there would be alot of room for improvement and making heists not that boring and repetitive. And heist contracts are map drops, which means its harder to progress maps and sustain them. League specific things shouldnt hinder the core game. You should always have the freedom to just ignore them and play the game. |

" I do. Many of his missions were borderline impossible for a plethora of bulds. Also PITA on a general basis, despised by many. I also remember the backlash on forums with related rage threads on a whole new level. This is a buff © 2016

" Cause they were random and you didnt know what would happen down in the area. If the contract would say "Kill guard xy without raising the alarm" you could choose if it would fit your build and if you want to do it. People dont like surprises and impossible quests, but if you can chose yourself how hard the game is for your build it's totally fine. And if you're creative enough you will have a build that can do almost any content. |
