Exalted Weapon effect is broken after last patch

Updated for 3.12.3

How it looked before: https://dump.video/i/qwEyhC.mp4 - clean weapon model, soft golden light, ALOT of golden feathers and big glow

Current version: https://dump.video/i/6ZJIda.mp4 - you can't even see a weapon model, almost no feathers and a small glow

Original effect: video

Can add my voice for having this fixed. Not sure why it was changed seeing as Divine wasn't but I find it unacceptable that it's change this much from it's original appearance.

How it looks on my end:

Compared to Divine that looked the same besides coloring:

Another video in addition to my one posted above comparing it against the Divine effect:

In total I would say there are four main issues with this new version:

1) Not applying to the whole weapon properly for some skins
2) Looking just completely wrong on two handers (see above)
3) Colour has changed.
4) It has a weird pulsing effect (might be an interaction with bloom I can't quite tell).

I do hope this is just a bug, but if it's not I wonder if GGG would consider giving us two versions of the effect so that we can still use the original one. Reducing bloom doesn't seem like a reason to completely change an effect. It was not even that bad since the bloom slider was added.

Ultimately whether the new one is better or worse is subjective, but the point is this isn't the version the people that actually purchased it had decided they liked. I do recall Chris saying in the past that they were against changing MTX for this reason, so fingers crossed this gets resolved soon.

Thank you for the reports, we'll look into it.
Thanks for the improvements in todays patch, it's not quite as bad now on two handers but it still looks way off compared to the original. In particular:

Sometimes it has bad looking green parts:

On staves in particular it looks very thin compared to before, more like the Radiant effect than the Exalted one:

I wonder if it would be possible to just give the owners of this effect a legacy and updated version so we can pick the one we prefer? I really liked the old one and this whole ordeal seems quite unnecessary.

Thanks

The difference in this effects appearance is due to the changing of our Bloom system.
We've tweaked the effect to look more like the previous version, even on low levels of bloom.
Increasing the bloom slider will make it look more like the original one.

However, for that first picture you posted, that is mostly due to the weapon effect being applied to a weapon skin. Individual weapon skins can have their own standalone problems with various weapon effects. I'll raise an issue to get that adjusted.

Thanks for the reply. I tried all the skins I have and the green is most noticeable on these three:

Ivory Arc of Courage
Crypt Sword
Infernal Axe

These all used to work fine. I guess the green comes from something added to try and reduce the bloom?

I agree on *some* skins with bloom turned up it's kind of close now. For many others though (especially the two-handers) it seems to have lost a lot of the core glow and sparkle particles. On these it looks like a poor version of the original.

Compared to Divine again:

I hope you'll continue trying to make it closer to the original anyway, or better still just revert to the 3.11 version which was fine with lower bloom settings :)

I'm sorry, but this is completely unacceptable.
It's not even close to the original effect I purchased. I made a comparison video of how effect looked back in days and how hideous it looks now:

Before: https://dump.video/i/qwEyhC.mp4 - clean weapon model, soft golden light, ALOT of golden feathers and big glow

After: https://dump.video/i/6ZJIda.mp4 - you can't even see a weapon model, almost no feathers and a small glow

One more example where the new version looks nothing like the original:

Showed next to Divine for comparison again - you can see that the Exalted has hardly any of the radiant particles now and looks really thin compared to before.

Please get it back to looking like it used to.
Any update on fixing it?
