How dead is Standard mode?

As someone who has been playing standard only for about 2 years now i can say with certainty that standard is by no means dead. Some stuff is much more expensive there compared to league while other things are actually cheaper. I can count the number of times where i had to whisper more than 3 people before getting a trade on 1 hand and while i am by no means a frequent trader i did quite a few in my few years of playtime and can't recall ever having issues. Can't talk about selling stuff though as i am not doing that.
Any trade > 1ex = Trading is pretty much the same as leagues.

Anything under that? Better get ready to whisper at least 3 or 4 people. (This number getting exponentially higher as the item you are trying to buy is worth less.)

Lots of people will flat out ignore you if they don't think the trade is worth their time, regardless of the fact that they were the one who priced their stuff in the first place.

As for everything other than trade, standard is fine as long as you join a community that actively plays it. The MF academy discord is generally nice and active in standard so that's where I tend to end up hanging out if I'm bored with leagues; but I'm sure there are many other places like it.
Souls along a conduit of blood, from one vessel to the next.
I skipped Heist (first league i skip in more than 3 years) and played standard for 3 full months. Got around 20 trades a day and I had a blast trying about 8-9 different builds.

Standard is fine [Removed by Support].

Standard is pretty much alive and i prefer it over leagues for several years now. Simply because i got a job and family which leaves not much time for starting all over again and reaching end game bosses every 3 months

When you dont got much time, dont like to start all over again then standard is perfect.

Im really keen for the 10 boss Maven feature i really cant wait until the patch is out. With Harvest being back standard is gonna flourish since you can make your own top tier gear and dont require to pm people with no buyouts.

In general advice i can give regards trading is never pm people without buyout. Just treat them as they dont exist. This advice will save you from interacting with very unpleasant standard folks and it will save your time.

a place for special people
if someone wants to dip his or her toes into STD, the 3.13 content update will actually be a great place to start.

you can tackle the endgame, Maven, Atlas skill tree ect right away (and with stronger builds if you desire/can afford) and skip all the leveling and grinding and get to the juice momentarily.

sure, you miss the new league mechanic, but other than that the 3.13 update offers enough for STD to enjoy and explore.
Standard is fine.

As more and more leagues get merged into standard, the better the population there as the % of content vs current league increases with each league's passing.

Sure the market might not be as deep as league but its still acceptable and importantly it gives a state of permanence (No FOMO). I personally am way past the age where I can spend hours on end repeating and diving through each league.
Standard is the best place for people who cannot muster the time investment to make a push a in a new league.

Lets face it, starting fresh every 3 -4 months from zero in a game this complex with this many systems is a huuuuge investment.

Nothing wrong with taking a break and enjoying the hard earned spoils.

besides New leagues that launch with expansions tend to be pretty simplistic.

So as nice as next league will be.. it will be pretty skippable
Standard has its uses. Shaking off the rust before new league, practicing campaign.
SC Standard is in a pretty good shape and fucks many people just fine - progression is saved (besides the fucking atlas), economy is working.

HC Standard is dead, there are no people playing nor trades.
