No politics in chat

Personally, I'd like to see a rule against (real world) politics in chat (or at least not in global chat). I like to look at global chat sometimes, and to ask things; but it's annoying to hear political nonsense. I game to relax and have fun; listening to politics hurts that goal. Its also a nuisance to have to add a bunch of people to an ignore list, cuz it's often not just one person ranting, but a whole lot of people making bad comments.
I prefer for games to be a politics free zone.

Aha so u are the problem ..

I usually dont see anyone complain and I have been here now for 10 years but actually I never insert my opinion, I listen more then anything. It helps me to hear public opinion as much as I can. I rarely say anything unless someone is way way offbase then might try to correct them, if they get upset I choose to not respond. But like I said there are literally hundreds of chat channels.


and if GGG said politics cant be discussed what is next? How about if I said talking about certain foods offends me are we to say they can now not be discussed either? how about say certain sports, so im really against football can we now say football can not be discussed. Honestly if you cant have a civilized conversation and respect other people opinions regardless of subject matter you are the problem.

There's a time and place for everything and POE global chat is clearly not it for politics out of Wraeclast's own.

Despite it being a hot topic right now, the rules in place regarding this topic are not meant to police or bully anyone. Just the anonymity of the internet alone makes any and all shared opinions redundant and therefor irrelevant.

For example, I could share beliefs and opinions in global chat, while I don't hold any of them true to heart in real life, while you would express your convictions based upon those and respond in kind? That would be utterly foolish.

Just like naming and shaming on these forums, these rules are there to protect all users from lies and ignorance, in equal regard.

Its not in TOS that you cant discuss it.

Why do you need someone to protect you from lies and ignorance? They don't protect against scamers and price fixers

and again its not against the TOS that you agreed to when you signed up for the game. And I just read though them to see if they have made amendments to the TOS and they have not. So again for the 4th time if you dont like a subject of a convo no one should have to cater to you when GGG offers you hundreds of different general chats to go to.

If multiple people are discussing a subject matter that you dont like we should not have to stop just because a couple people dont like it, they can ignore it or move along.

now if they are saying offensive things at a certain party or group of political people that is different but people should be able to have civilized discussions about any subject matter. And lets be honest how many times a league do you see the item being posted GoldenHandJob from act I think 3 item? Those people definitely should not be discussing politics or any serious subject matter.

Ok thank you, if its against the rules its against the rules.

But I could report literally 2 dozen people a day if we go by all those rules I guess ill just start sending chat ban messages to support. Antagonize players in obnoxious manner that literally defines 90% of our player base.
