It takes a group as bright as the modern progressives to take an issue they like (push back on human rights abusing, intellectual property stealing, CCP sanctioned spying China) and then do a complete 180 because a political figure they hate actually does something to forward that agenda (for the first time in 30 years).

Progressives don't like China. They just also don't like its opponent. It's possible to dislike two things simultaneously.

yet they still vote for the most pro-china party in America

Lol, America doesn't have any pro-China parties. Is this another case of Americans being so far off into looney-land that they don't even get what being pro or anti-China is, much like they've little concept of what being actually left is? Also, considering the American system is so broken that it only has 2 meaningful parties...

Oh, you said so, I guess that settles it then. Speaking in 2011 JB said "a rising China is a positive development". But maybe I'm too looney and don't understand what pro-China means.

In 2016 JB said "we're not trying to slow down Chinese growth". Now maybe 'context' is just looney, but when your chief economic rival manipulates currency, steals your intellectual property, and does all manner of spying and illegal activity to boost their economy at the expense of yours, I'd say 'not taking an anti-China stance' is indistinguishable from adopting a pro-China stance.

But actions speak louder than words yeah? Politicians say all kinds of looney stuff right?

In late 2013, JB was responsible for "negotiating a bunch of very sensitive issues with the Chinese, including the South China Sea, trade, tech transfer, etc. Biden is criticized on that trip for basically going soft on Beijing. Shortly after they return to the U.S., Hunter Biden’s firm receives a $1 billion private equity deal from the Chinese government [via the Bank of China]. Not from an American business in China; from the Chinese government itself. It later gets increased to $1.5 billion. We have no way of knowing how much Rosemont made on the deal because there are no disclosure requirements."

-Peter Schweizer, “Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends.”

It's fine not to know any of that, but don't assert things like 'America doesn't have a pro China party' if you don't actually follow the politics please.

To stick with my preference to bend this onto the topic of the OP - leadership on China matters, and it's clear one party has nominated a pro-China candidate. Today its just tiktok, tomorrow could be games. Or it could be China beating YOUR line of work to market and bankrupting you through IP theft. The election will have real consequences on US policy towards China, and could affect PoE downstream.
Yeah...........for those of you who still think it's just talk and wont be possible I'm set this here for you. New article came out 3 hours ago banning Tencent from India. If other countries are now following suit, there's a STRONG possibility of the US being banned now too.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/pubg-india-bans-tencent-game-in-latest-crackdown-on-chinese-apps/ar-BB18DMKO?ocid=msedgntp

I've read every comment on the thread and love the different views and but for some of you; try to understand this isn't a thread aimed for specifically about politics. It's about asking GGG to have something for it's potentially banned country fanbases. Please don't try to muddy the topic at hand. The only reason this has a touch of politics in the comments here IS because politics is currently going hand in hand with business / gaming.

So yeah again GGG is there any solution like a downloadable version in the works? One that let's us retain / copy / download our chars & play a offline client version? It's been a talked about topic and request for years but this is an unprecedented situation.

I'd much rather know something about this now rather than wait till Sept 15th or whenever this Tencent ban get's blown across the board. Many of us have put in too much time playing and leveling our chars to just be wasted away. Despite the many issues and quality of life requests needed; at this current moment time is an issue and MANY of us would actually pay to have an offline version available instead of just being out of luck.
I rarely post, but when I do it's important. Fighting for the player, not monsters! https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/880487

America is only targeting apps etc that have competing american owned apps/programs, just like anything else. They can throw up as many red flags/herrings as they want, it always comes down to economics.

PoE players in the US have absolutely nothing to worry about unless an American company comes out with a PoE clone and they need to try and shut down the competition.
Yeah, your source is an untrusted american politic, so....

FB, twitter, google, amazon, you name it, they all collect datas.
Don't tell me there is no sensorship on fb or twitter or any other social network.

This thread does not deserv to be on this forum, why it is not deleted yet?

Bruh, we already tried that logic in the Covid thread in Off-Topic, and the mods didn't buy it, even though politics is even more fundamentally linked to the ongoing pandemic than it is to gaming. If they let this thread keep going, it's cos they're not being consistent with their own previous decisions. Hell, they even disbarred discussion of economics, which aren't even mentioned in the CoC. Either this thread is shut down, or the (multiple) Covid thread(s) ought to be re-opened. Anything else is bs.

Na, this isn't India following the US, this is their own thing after a couple of border clashes where India soldiers were killed by Chinese ones.

Regarding all the political talk... thank God I don't live in the US. Lovely country, lovely people, but damn the political talk there is just ugly.
