Help with "trigger a socketed spell when you use a skill" anyways to control it?

You are using Devouring Diadem.
This will consume corpses. ~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.

"Yeah, there's that as well. He's all kinda of messed up for trying to get his Spectres raised... :P I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

Thanks everyone for responding. I was tying to make a video to upload when I finally figured it out while I was watching the replay, so thanks for that suggestion.
Turns out, it wasn't auto casting Raised Spectre, it was getting in the way. When I target a corpse like RS, as soon as I cast "Raise Spectre," it seems like the wand's auto cast gets to go first and decides to cast "flesh offering." Even though I cast RS, the wand's trigger spell gets to go first and when flesh offering is cast, it eats up the corpse before RS can take effect. Since the RS no longer has a RS corpse to resurrect, it targets another nearby corpse which most of the time is not a RS. As long as I remove Raise Zombies and Flesh Offering from the trigger wand, it works fine since both spells triggers first and removes the corpse before RS kicks in. So thanks everyone! |

"Yeah, that happens because the trigger ignores the cast time of the spells it's supporting. So even though you're activating the Spectres first, it has a cast time to contend with, whereas your Offering and Zombies don't. Between that and the helm which triggers by itself, you end up with too many things competing for corpses when all you want to do is raise your Spectres. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

"Just remove the gems from your wand when raising your spectres. |

" Or even easier, if you do not have auras in one of your weapon slots, use weapon swap. Other than that, based on a discussion I have had elsewhere, it would seem that the trigger in the wand triggers socketed spells even before instant skills, and the fact that its effects occur before Raise Spectre in OP's case is not even a matter of cast time, but a matter of implementation. |
