Harvest league might be the best league ever.
Its so fun most the player base is gone and the game is 80% bots.

" Oh I was watching Nugi craft his ring. It's crazy IMO, it's just not fun. I'd rather be slaying mobs and grinding for loot. Not play convoluted farmville on the side to get a few special crafts "Path of Exile's engine is currently modern, lean and fast." - Chris Wilson, September 19th, 2019 "It looks like we broke something with 3.10.0. We don't know what it is yet." - Bex, March 16th, 2020 Last edited by girng#7675 on Jul 12, 2020, 8:29:47 AM

Ever since perandus I've been getting 36-37 challenges +, this league I'm forcing myself to 24.

" Mostly this. I've made maybe 1-2 GG items from Harvest and the rest were bricks without any redeemable features that would never roll anything good. I don't mind the crafting but since I don't want to craft to run a shop there is only so much crafting I really can do anyway without running tons of builds. The mechanic itself is tedious and frustrating with the visual indicator bugs, needing so many tanks mucks with FPS and looks horrid and cramped in the garden, and getting seed runs of one colour for 20+ maps kinda requires me to take big gaps in harvesting or to hoard lifeforce when I do get it in order to carry on growing. I appreciate the potential added to crafting but not to carry a whole league. (yes, I know have 35 challenges but I'm likely to quit a lot earlier than I would in most leagues still.) " ---- But, I think it is important not to criticize people who have different goals in the game even if it contrasts with your play style. I completely understand that there are people who enjoy Harvest, but I also am quite sure that the majority think that it is the worst league ever. There is not much middle ground, and frankly I am trying to reach the middle ground of being able to tolerate it because I want to play. That's how bad this league is for me, I have spent most of the 23 days trying to figure out how to get the enthusiasm to play POE. I have switched builds a few times, I tried SSF, I copied the Reddit garden, etc. I bought all of my target crafting bases, I planned out everything somewhat carefully and even after all of that I usually don't even want to log into the game. And I can only speak for myself, but even with all I mentioned above I would have been perfectly OK with a "crafting league" if it was a hybrid of loot explosion and non-tedious/non-complicated crafting. It is not the idea that was so bad, it was the execution of mechanics that GGG screwed up so badly on. Last edited by MrWonderful99#4612 on Jul 12, 2020, 12:35:16 PM

" Well said and really where I am at. I think the crafting mechanic of Harvest is fine and I see why people that love crafting like it. However many come to POE for action in an action rpg. I think the crafting mechanic is a tough sell for IT to be the whole league. They really need a bit more yang to go with the yin. I don't mind crafting, but it is not the main reason I play POE and this league has not kept my attention at all. A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

" I'm not criticizing anyone. I'm just wondering why people "force" themselves to play a video game. I see that quite often here in the forum. People who make daily posts about how much they hate the game, while playing that same game for hours each day. My guess would be there's some sort of an addiction at play there, but I'm not a psychologist. Might be something else. |

People who make daily posts about how much they hate the game, while playing that same game for hours each day. My guess would be there's some sort of an addiction at play there, but I'm not a psychologist. Might be something else.[/quote] --- Oh, I was just making a general observation used your post as a reference point. As you know so many posters in the forums look at people's profiles to see their highest level character, how many achievements they have done, bosses etc. Just from my personal experience I play a ton, but I have not tried yet to go over level 96 and I pay no attention to the achievements. It might be a little addiction, but I think that longer-term players are passionate about the game, and are absolutely correct about voicing their concerns especially about tedious and overly complicated mechanics that we think are not fun, intuitive or necessary. This league has come in somewhat the "perfect storm" where many of us have almost unlimited time to game compared to usual. Anyway, I generally have the utmost respect for GGG and what they have accomplished. I tend to have the opinion that they will do as they wish and obsessing over little annoyances is not a good way to enjoy the game. I had hoped that they learned more from their prior "mistakes" and I sure thought they were on the right path integrating previous leagues, having scarabs and the new masters so we can play more of the features we enjoy. I also liked the loot explosions (for the most part) because it mitigated some of my frustrations over the years like 6 linking stuff and having a smooth gear upgrade path. I also prefer to sell cheap stuff and feel good about the sales because it helped out fellow players. Selling GG stuff does not have the same appeal for me.
